Hey lucas, welcome to the forums. Check out this [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4314984/tm.htm]THREAD[/link] right here. It'll tell you everything you need to know about getting the gears to shift. If you have any more questions though let us know and we'll try to help you out.

lube the 2 speed shifter with some wd or liquid wrench, it help with the shifting, i took mine apart and sprayed it with wd, then lubed it with all in one oil. made it shift a little more frequent and more reliably.

Hey there, you can put bigger wheels and tires on the buggy but there are a few things you should keep in mind:
1. The bigger diameter and weight of the wheels put a lot more stress on the gears and the engine itself. So expect to strip some gears and maybe even wear out your engine faster with them on.
2. Be sure that the tires are the same size around on both the front and back, otherwise you'll mess up the differentials on your car.
3. If you do end up doing it post some pictures

The Tornado is basiclly the same platform as the Volcano. You may be able to fit Volcano tires on but I'm not sure of the front end / steering clearance. I'll try it tomarrow and let you know. But like Popper said you'll see alot more wear overall on the drivetrain. These cars are cheap and designed minimally to perform their intended purpose in their stock setup. When you start making changes to one part you'll affect many others both directly and indirectly. The weakest part of these cars is the gear train (IMO) so proceed with fair warning. But I will see how those tires fit. The buggy is DOA at the moment so I can't run it , but I bet those buggy tires will fit the Volcano! Now thats a Truggy! or should I say Bruck!

well, chubby, Like your sig sais " If it ain't broke, You diddent have fun"
I'll go with that saying and put those wheels on.
buy the way, I'm going to use the stock wheels from an HPI rush evo, but all 4 wheels will be the rear rush evo wheels (because the rush evo is a 2wd) I've tried them on and they don't hit or rub the body even in full turn. I will post pics ASAP, This thing looks AWSOME!!!! amazing ground clearence (without the spoiler you would think it's a stadiam truck!)

Hi Guys

Hi Popper252 , i tried playing with the gear adjustments. But u will be surprised to hear this. I did hear the gears change, but within 5 sec..i could see exhaust fumes all over . The exhaust was torn like a tissue paper. from the end connected to the engine to the center. I am sure i did not hit anything as it was an open flat ground. I have no idea how or why. Is it the quality for the exhaust or ..just that my car is too powerfull [8D]

Will get the replacement and try again.

Thank you
Lucas

Lol wow... that's impressive man. Was the exhaust plugged up or something? It looks like it exploded.[sm=eek.gif]
5 seconds is a little early for it to be shifting into second, You may want to try to adjust it so it shifts a little later. But that's totally up to you and what you like.
haha... i'm sorry I still can't get over how your exhaust completely disentegrated like that. Thanks for the pictures man. Those are great.

WOW![X(] It looks like it got VERY hot. How lean are you running this thing? By the discoloration on the end of the alum exhaust manifold it looks like it was real lean. Was the silicone connecter tight and zip tied? Maybe Eric from Redcat has an answer? That's one nasty looking pipe!

You think you've seen everything, and then something like this pops up

I can honestly say that in all my years I have never seen ANYTHING even remotely like that. Congratulations, you've blown my expansive mind, LOL.

I'm gonna have to go with chubby on this one. it definitely got crazy hot. possibly fuel pooled up inside the pipe from running rich, then he leaned it out and it got hot enough to ignite the fuel in the pipe? I REALLY don't have any idea, and I don't think that Darin would be too keen on letting me experiment to try to make the same thing happen in one of our cars, LOL.

Worst case scenario, though, as long as the car still runs, you just need a coupler...and to upgrade to the aluminum exhaust

Breakage is the best excuse for upgrading

*EDIT*

off topic-

I just realized there was a chubbysuncle and a chubbysdad. I just saw "chubbys" and assumed they were the same person this whole time, LOL.

I have a question about the plastic exhaust pipe, with the inner baffle removed to help the engine breath better will I see a huge increase in power by switching to an aluminum tuned pipe? I noticed a considerable increase in performance once I removed the baffle but I just wanted to know how much better a tuned pipe would be. Like the redcat aluminum pipe for example?

Thanks.

steve...a "real" tuned pipe will help a lot. first off, the aluminum pipe will dissipate heat better and help the engine run cooler...and now, depending on WHAT performance you want, you can get a pipe for low end torque, or top end power, or whatever (from other manufacturers-but you can expect to spend a hair more money, plus they won't be pretty and shiny like ours, LOL)

you will see an increase in power going from the stock plastic pipe to the aluminum pipe though

I broke one of my zipties and I just went out to walmart and got a pack of the same sized ones. It hasn't failed me yet. They've also come in real handy for a lot of other things. They're just so much fun.
But yeah changing out the exhaust is pretty straight forward. Post a pic of your buggy after its done.
Did you end up getting the redcat aluminum exhaust or another brand?

Awesome man, let us know if you get any performance increases. Also if it's louder quieter. Sounds better. That kinda stuff.
Good luck with it.

OK guys...i'm one step closer figuring out the 2 speed debacle. I just phoned in an order to my LHS owner to get him to order me the following parts:

What does 32p mean? The first one is a 21 tooth and the second is 16. But i guess you already knew that. Looks like it could work. That clutchbell doesn't look deep enough but you won't really know till you try it on.
