RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/10th BUGGY
Hey "rollinjoy" to find the low speed needle you just gotta pop off the air cleanaer and there will be a little screw there, thats your low speed adjustment right there. But I'm curious if anyone knows did redcat racing upgrade there stuff recently? I hear that people with the xp's keep breaking susopension parts, and apparently alotta people just break the clutch. I ask because I have a Tornado BB and bash/race that thing pretty hard and she's holding up as well as anything else actually. Of course maybe my track and my yard isn't as wicked as some others or something. Also what is the difference betweens the xp's and the BB's

The curve at the bottom edge of the piston goes towards the carb as long as you haven't taken the piston off the con rod, then this would be the right orientaion.

I am a new to nitro r/c. I just bought a redcat racing tornado xl. I like it very well for a beginner r/c. I noticed that the wheels have cracked a I was looking for a new set other than the ones on the redcat racing website. If anyone nows let me know. I was also wondering if it is possible to change it two a two speed.
Thanks
Tyson

did you get a chance to run it yet? If so do you still want a 2 speed? I sure don't... plenty fast nuff and wayy less problems with a single speed.

You can put any 2.8 rims and tires on your buggy, HOWEVER, you may need to trim the ribs on the inside of the rim so they don't rub the A-arms front edges. The picks below are of a customers buggy that we set up and hoped up for them. It has a set of Proline Dirt works tires on Imex Romulin Rims, with an STS .12 5 port off road race engine sporting a High flow air filter and Racers Edge Torque exhaust. You can change just about anything on the vehicle and yes you can change it over to a 2 speed trans.

my 2.2's are the same height as the stock, just a litttle bigger so i put a single speed from clermont and a 15 tooth clutch bell.

My first post
My bro in law and I are looking to get into the Nitro cars.. He's gonna go with a much more expensive and pwoerful one.. while I"m gonna take baby steps and go with the Tornado Xl ( or shockwave). I think it'll be plenty fun/fast enough for what I need.
Basically, what I want to know is what are the weak points on these and what spare parts I need. I've read about some gears stripping, but it was on the BB pro I believe.
Not saying this lil car is gonna break the first time I take it out, but I've been around race cars/trucks all my life and stuff breaks. It's part of the game

WHere abouts it Perry lol.. I am over in central florida. The xl or shockwave is a good starter. They are the single speeds and there are alot less problems. There are some posts about the shockwave above, read through and that will tell you pretty much everything.,

It is not a Redcat period and Himoto is the same thing with a different name. Bottom plate is drilled wrong, fuel tank different, upper and lower arms different, upper plate wrong............. I would say it was made in China............lol..............oops there all made there[:@] if I run accross one that looks like it I will book mark your question and come back to pm you........................ehroof might have something like it [:-] or one of the other super Hobby shop owners[X(]

ok thanks. Well I have smartech, himoto(redcat) ruled out. Actually, if we look at it, it doesn't matter the brand as long as I get a quality drivetrain and a good engine right?
