Thanks for the link.....how can you tell if the piston is bottom dead center without taking the whole thing apart? thanks!

check once, then when the piston is on the bottom make a mark on the flywheel so you will know when the piston is at the bottom. i hope this makes sense, for some reason i cant think of a better way to explain, LOL

the link tells you how you can tell if the piston is bdc. heres how....

"After each run, make sure the piston is BDC (Bottom Dead Center) when the engine is cooling. You can do this simply by putting a mark on the back of the flywheel with a Sharpie or any type of permanent marker. The easiest way is to look through the exhaust (before you mount the header) and spin the engine until the piston is BDC. Then, mark the flywheel on the back so a starter box won’t wear off the mark. It is always good practice to make sure the piston is BDC after each run, and not just after break-in."

hey guys, i was able to start my car today and drive it around it kept dieing and then i did a little tuning and it worked perfectly. i ran it through a tank of gas and i filled it back up and when i tried to start it again fuel came out of back of the engine inbetween crankcase and the cooling head. i checked all the screws and everything was fine, i was thinking that maybe i flooded the engine and when i tried to start it with the shaft starter it may have had done something. also is their supposed to be a shim inbetween the cooling head and the crankcase. if anybody knows what is going on with my car please tell me.

Tornado BB Pro

Hey Y'all! I am new to the Nitro world, but I have raced electric cars for a few years. It has been awhile since I have ran one, so I went ahead and bought the Tornado BB Pro on Ebay, and only paid $215 for it. I was contiplating to pay the extra $50 to get the 1/8th Scale, but I figured that with the 1/10th Scale, I would be able to start racing it soon. Now here is the bad news, I broke my car in, and it was going great, but then I was doing a donut in the dirt, and the rear end slide onto the pavement, and the rear wheel just fell off. The "C Cup" has a crappy design (My Opinion). I would think that it should be a little longer so that the hole that is drilled thru the axl, that holds the pin for the wheel, which is were mine broke, would make it a little stronger.

I took one from the front, and put it in the back, and made my car a 3WD, and it works OK, but I can not wait for the parts to get here this weekend. I am hoping that Redcat is going to get their products into Hobby People here in Ventura County soon!!! Anyway, from what I have seen so far...this car kicks ASS!!!

Hello all,
I just ordered a Tornado BB as my first nitro powered car. I have been looking at some posts about the clutch bell and gear problems and was wondering if Redcat has fixed this problem or should I go ahead and order them in advance. Also my car will be arriving next week, what other items do I need to get in order to get the car up and running( oil, tools, extra parts )? All I bought so far is the car and a starter kit. Any help would be great. I think these are the parts I need???

I'm thinking that, rather than spending $60-80 on parts to get my buggy going again (only to have to keep throwing parts at it in the future), that I would scavenge the parts to make something else.

So, how tough would it be to put this motor in a boat? Will it get enough cooling with its finned head? Will it be woefully underpowered? Mainly, how the heck do I convert the motor to a flywheel/flexdrive system? I have no idea how a flexshaft would attach to such a motor.

Hey 1500 being in Canada you need a boat but you need a different motor also depending on its mounting. Most boat motors are water cooled [:-]

Please help! Replaced my clutch springs. finally got it started. Does not take off when i throttle it. HSN is turned out 2 and 1/2 turns out. Lots of fuel coming out exhaust. i turn HSN clockwise and it runs for a little bit, but slowly. No kind of accelleration whatsoever. Are there other adjustments that need to be made.This is the Infinity engine. Not sure if it has a low speed needle. Does not look like the VX 18 engines people discuss here. Could it have only one needle for adjustments. Could my idle screw be the cause of this? Seems to idle fine, but just won't go anywhere when i throttle it.

yes it has a low speed. Adjust it in alittle at a time. Its on the side of the carb.

Started it again today. Same problem. Sounds like it is way too much gas going in. Looking at the motor from the rear. The LSN. Is it the nut on the right side? Do i turn it all the way in? How far back out do i turn? Yet to get this thing running.
