Default Atomic Warhead

Hello people

I've been hunting down for days until i came across this wonderful forum. I purchaced an Atomic Warhead (first Nitro buggy)

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ATOMIC-RC-NIT...QQcmdZViewItem

from ebay here in Australia for $212.00AUD, I was wondering if it was a comparable model to the Red Cat Tornado XP model.

To me it seems like the same car and just re badged, I hope it is because this looks like a great place to get help and share experiences.

Thank you all.

Perfection, when I get my buggy back from the hobby shop and I crash it next time I know where my parts will be coming form.

Would this car also be the same as a Condor 2, they look pretty similar also.

Not realy in china..
Hong Kong is quite different from china although it is part of china in terms of location and nationality.
They are more modern and well developed city, not just the infrastructure but their culture and citizen's quality are much better than those in china mainland.

HaHA, [:-] let's stop the history lesson.. We back to RC.

I have made a little purchase with them for experimental nature in order to see their service quality.
Indeed they sell things in cheap price.
Let's see the truth when my order is arrived my home (I am in Australia)

I checked the date chop on the box which is by post office,
they shiped out my order with 24 hours.
Not bad.

Packaging is not bad too, a carton box with bubble wrap inside.

They aren't different manufacturers. There is one manufacturer that makes for all the brands. It's simple - the manufacturer doesn't have a 'consumer' sales channel and probably doesn't want one, because then they have to deal with customer support, shops, online shopping etc. Instead Redcat, Himoto, HSP etc all provide that. It's just that the resellers don't have exclusivity agreements.

To rtk23: look up Plaig RC in Australia. He's been selling upgrades including clutch upgrades and steel parts for a long time. And for $8, get that ball bearing upgrade kit! The Atomic Warhead comes with bushings on the wheels (at least mine did when I bought about two years ago).

Reading around the forum you'll quickly see the trouble spots for these cars. The 2-speed in particular doesn't stand up to abuse, so be smooth on the throttle and you should be ok. I recommend to check all set screws (especially near the transmission and diffs), and check the alignment of the motor - it affects the mesh between the clutch bell and the gearbox. Read up on how to set this mesh (and loctite the engine mount screws).

Yeah I have been seeing a lot of threads come back from the deal lately. Probably people doing some Google searches and coming across them or something messing around. Who knows.

Don't complain! It means people are searching rather than asking the same old questions over and over.

Yea, the single speed shockwave goes around 30MPH and the two speed, can go around 40. You can get better performance if you change a few things. Clutch bell, tuned pipe, etc.

i have a hsp warhead with vx18 engine and no previous experience (first car) and i have not had a single problem with my car.
The only prob was me stripping a gear but that was my fault because they wernt close enough. my dad is a mechanic and knows alot about engines and tuned the engine to perfection and could go faster.
wil post vid of 3/4 throttle

I got 44.6Mph out of my Tornado S30, All Stock.... Ive tuned the carb now so I'm guessing I'll get 3 or maybe 4 more mph.

Once Iget my new dogbone in I will strap the Garmin on again and see if we have more speed.
