Differential gears
I'm a newby to world of nitro racing, and i just wanted to ask some
of you more knowledgable racers a gear question.I just bought the
volcano stx and i got about 2 hours actually driving the truck and
when i shut it down to cool,i noticed about 8-10 teeth broke off my
main diff gear.Is this a problem i have to learn to deal with,or is this
a problem from me buying a cheaper product?I ran the truck on the
blacktop a lot do you think maybe this had some play in this, maybe
to much traction. If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it.
thanks a lot guys,your new buddy redman1!

RE: Differential gears
hi redman,
i have had my truck for about a month and keep looking at the gears and they look good. Alot of people seem to be having this problem though. Stripping gears is nothing new to the hobby, electric or nitro, i am waiting for some gears for and electric tl-01 i stripped them about 2 weeks ago. i stripped gears on my rustler too. I think its part of the hobby, doesnt matter how much you spend. I too drive on asphalt and dirt so who knows. if you run your rc alot, usually something breaks. I would suggest to buy a few extra gears etc. this way you have them for the future since it seems no hobby stores sell the parts for them.
