Default Volcano or Tornado XP?

Hey Guys, I have been researching around for a nitro R/C. I like the look of the Volcano but I wonder if the drive would be more fun on the Tornado. So I come to you asking which do you think I should get if this is my first R/C nitro. Please help! I am split down the middle on them. Thanks!

I myself have 2 volcanco's and love them. With the aluminum upgrades that are coming out for them.I think they will be that much more awesome.Parts for them are pretty cheap as well.I would change the radio and servo's for it though. As well as the pullstart.I dont know anything about the
buggy.Ive taken mine through mud, snow, water, and its still kicks butt. This is just my own thoughts.

Good luck with the choice you make.....

I sell them all and would take the hurricane first, volcano second, and tornado 3rd.
Just my opinion.

i have the volcano and tornado xp, from personal experience the volcano is better, i have had no problems with it at all, the tornado on the otherhand has had numerous problems, the transmitter needs to be replaced, i have stripped gears, pullstart broke, clutch spring broke, will either shift too soon or not at all no matter how it is adjusted. All this happened within 5 tanks of fuel including break in. Redcat is sending me a replacement transmitter. I think if not for sheer siplicity the volcano is better for someone new to the hobby, it is plenty fast too.

Hey Chubbysdad , can you post a list of the upgrades that are allready out , and let us know what others will be comming out ? I looked at a Tornado with aluminum steering arms . I think the next time mine breaks I'll keep buying the better parts.

i wouldnt suggest to upgrade to aluminum if your going to just bash around and jump and stuff, if one thing dont break something else will, it will break somewhere else down the line. better of with the plastic breaking, kinda like the same way a servo saver works.

I personally agree with ehroof. I would not spend the money on the upgrade parts. They are made to take the impact and break. If you hit something hard, and instead of the 5.00 a-arm braking, something that costs alot more might break. Just my opinion.

Some aluminum parts are not totaly not
needed,but some are a must.I really hope
redcat produces these aluminum parts some-
time soon.Door type mounts,steering hubs,and
rear axes holders, these with the parts that are
do out mid april should give these trucks all
they need to be winners on race day.I've read
post by jeepers creepers who has modified his
redcat's with these aluminum parts and is able
to hit 5 or 6 ft jumps without breaking. There is
no way you can hit jumps like that with plastic,
it will break everytime. So redcat, I hope your
listening, because this is what we really need.

Ok , sorry , I guess joking on this board is not allowed. Maybe parts should all be painted black so they just look black ? Or left unfinished ??

Well , I did check back at the Redcat sight and they are out of steering arms. They did send mine so if they break again , I might go with the aluminum ones. I hope the car doesn't hit anything that hard again! LOL

why is everybody so nasty on this forum, no one can take a joke. i bet someone rats out redman and they delete his post. they did mine and i used ***** instead of the real words. These are just cool toys and they seem to bring out the worst side of people. I found that most people in this hobby are real nice and fun to talk to, that's what this forum is about. You should really calm down redman.
