Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated!!!!!!!!!! Do you have to take something off to get the piece of paper in it?. Mine is still fully assembled.

RE: REDCAT WHY DO THE GEARS STRIP OUT??
I had a holiday brake from driving my buggy and havent visited forum for a long time. Here is a tip. Since i put on HPI clutchbnell (17 teeth from savage ) and made custom shaft for adjusting spur position all problems went away. My friend that also has tornado xp did the same (he has 18teeth spur from savage) and he also has no problems. We burnt like 2 litres of fuel each and spur looks like after 2 tanks with original bell . I really recommend to throw away original bell, sacrifice 1 hour to make custom shaft (one long threaded screw + 2 caps ) and you will no longer be mad at your toy. Enjoy

RE: REDCAT WHY DO THE GEARS STRIP OUT??
I have a ? Yesturday I was running pretty hard with the buggy and 3 times I spun the Fly wheel right off. I used lock tight everytime I re-assembled. Any suggestions?????? Right now it seems to be holding up but just wondering what I might be doing wrong. This last time I didn't but lock tight on the allen screw that holds the clutchbell assembly together. It seemed to be spinning the flywheel off ,I think!(to tight). When I would take the clutchbell off the the flywheel shaft would come off with it. Nest time it happens I'll take a picture and post it because I don't think I am explaining well enough. Don't know some of the part names. Anyway looking for suggestions. Thanks Greg

RE: REDCAT WHY DO THE GEARS STRIP OUT??
not getting it tight enough. thats the problem.

I have really crank on it to get it tight. I thought I had it yesterday, I ran 3 tanks through. Then it just spun off again(with locktite) Are there suppose to be grooves where the flywheel touches the motor?

you need something to hold the piston in place while your tightning it, be careful that you dont damage the piston though.

I don't remeber seeing a clip holding on the flywheel. Are you talking about hte e clip? Because my problem is that whole shaft that the e clip is on, spinns right off. When I take everything apart that shaft comes off with the clutch bell. Instead of the clutchbell unscrewing off that shaft. Sorry I am trying to explain it, just not very good at it. Thanks Greg

RE: REDCAT WHY DO THE GEARS STRIP OUT??
thats really strange, because clutch bell shaft is designed that it will tighten itself to the crankshaft when accelerating. Maybe you have damaged bell shaft ? I really cannot think of a good reason why this is happening to you...

Ok since I didn't put locktite on the allen screw that holds the clutchbell assem together not having the problem. I don't know what was going wrong. Every time I put the locktite on it would spin it off. ???????????????????[>:] Very weird.

RE: REDCAT WHY DO THE GEARS STRIP OUT??
Just for the record, I just got my hands on a new CB today...along with a clutch w/an improved spring (oddly enough, it looks and feels EXACTLY like the Traxxas 4146 spring)
it's going in my Tornado XL, we'll see what happens.
