RE: Aluminum door mounts
you need new berings only for the rear hubs
the door mounts are a little smalle but if you put one ar maybe two washers between the doormount and the a arm it shout be fine

RE: Aluminum door mounts
team associated carrys the bearings you need 5mmx11mmx4mm, on ebay hobbie guy rc carys them cheap. no. 25239 they will fit perfect. Also you will need to drill the door holders and arms, stock ball joint are a fuzz bigger.

RE: Aluminum door mounts
Let me see if i can get this ironed out.
For the front steering arms the stock bearings work with the MT2 aluminum ones made by GPM. [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/GPM-Alloy-Front-Knuckle-Arm-HPI-MT2-Nitro-RS4-3-III_W0QQitemZ6052250671QQcategoryZ34063QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem]Steering arms[/link]
For the C-Hub(the doortype mount) all we need are some spacers to get that fitted right. [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-MT2-Purple-Aluminum-10-Degree-C-Hub-Hubs-Carriers_W0QQitemZ6051697726QQcategoryZ44028QQcmdZ ViewItem]C-Hub[/link]
The rear Hub thats made for the MT2, on the other hand, needs a lot of work to make it fit. You're probably better off trying to find something else.
And I know somewhere along the line there you need to get a new screw because the stock one is too small. Not sure for what or where it goes but that's what i've heard. [8D]
Please correct me if i'm wrong but I think that's the right setup.

RE: Aluminum door mounts
I have a himoto syclone first, the hpi steering arms come in 2 diiferent casters, 10% and 8% , i have 10%. the STOCK inside bearing will work with the hpi steering arm the outside STOCK bearing will not work. The door holder needed to be drilled bigger at he ball joint so the stock ball joint will fit , this is the case with the steerings also. Now on MY door holders I had to shave some metal out so the STOCK ball joint would get enough theads showing to make a nut fit.
This is on a himoto

RE: Aluminum door mounts
OK short and quick, hpi door holders will need the following done to them. The thread for the upper ball joints are different so retap them or drill and mill the suface so stock ball joint can have a nut put on it ( my route). The steering arms need re drilled and the stock ball joint and nut works with no mods. The inside bearing for the hpi steering will work stock, the outside bearing will need to be 5mmX11mmX4MM.
Hope this helps
PS I say mill but I just used a belt sander.
Team GPM carrys the door holders and steering arms, team associated has the bearings.

RE: Aluminum door mounts
you can tap holes for the ball studs to fit right in you do not need to drill out just tap out to a 3-.5mm tap bought at hardware store.

RE: Aluminum door mounts
I just drilled mine to right back to running , but I will buy some redcat parts someday, but no way will I pay 118 for the arms. We need to figure out if the HT2 arms will work, they look right but it looks like they have a hole for the shock to mount into. It looks like there might be enough material to drill tap and put the allen in for shocks ???? What do you think ??????
PS you get all 4 arms for like 35 or 39 bucks, I asked a guy for dimesion but no reply yet.

RE: Aluminum door mounts
I was looking at those MT2 arms and they look like they're a lot longer than what our cars have. They may also be narrower but It's hard to tell from the pictures.
