Default cant get it to start

the car started with the old gas tank(the gas tank had a small hole in it) had to put my finger over it after it was running and it was fine running in the stand meaning two pieces of 2x4 . it idle and ran good in the stand. I got a new gas tank and put it on and i cant get it to run or even start. its spitting gas tru the carb. thats how rich it is. tried adj the low speed with no luck (clockwise is lean?) I tried both ways anyway.
any help or hint. I have serch with no luck. since the car ran away from me and overheated its not the same. im thinking of buying a new engine but i dont know yet.

try with the 2 1/2 out high needle and flush with the collar low end setting. Put in a new plug or make sure the old one is lighting up good and see what happens. Sometimes a blown motor is hard to start and tune but try the setting first and maybe a new glow plug.

Take the plug out and give it a few pules, blow out any crap.

If you have an "ELECTRIC" starter like the one I got from www.topspeedtoys.com, pull the plug and spin it!

Re-tune the carb.

Make sure your head screws are tight. Mine loosen up and the car is really hard to start.
