Default What do YOU want for your Redcat Racing RC car?

I'm sure that there's a LOT of things that you guys want that we don't have yet, so here's what I'm wondering-what parts do you (both dealers and the folks that run 'em) want? I was thinking carbon fiber shock towers and upper decks and such, maybe some upgraded servos.

So, what do YOU think we should carry? Our whole purpose to be here is to make you guys happy, and now you have an opportunity to tell us what would make you and your Lightning, Tornado, Hurricane, or Volcano that much sweeter

... even though I don't OWN a RedCat rc car.. I can tell ya guys what would really spruce 'em up.

1: new wheels..
2: tire designs
3: carbon fiber
4: performance hopups, (Hi-tuned pipes, high clutch bells, you get it)
5: suspension parts, (ie: threaded shocks, tini pistons, etc)

Things among those lines could really get your rides some nice touch ups and possibly get em to sell better, knowing RCR has various hop ups.

Just keep on rolling out with the aluminum upgrades. Things like aluminum gear box housings etc...
A newly designed clutchbell for the one and two speeds. The teeth on there now look pretty bad.
Better gear material. Such as switching to a harder plastic or even using a hardened metal.
I've had some problems with dog bones bending.
Other than that there's really not that much else that I can think of that I can't replace or fix with something else.

I will agree with our clutchbells needing to be upgraded. It doesn't look terribly good when plastic wears a metal part out, LOL. I'll discuss that with the powers that be. Hopefully this weekend I can get some real wheeltime with a Volcano and a Hurricane, and I'll be takin notes the whole time.

Hey TBJ ... You can tell the powers that we need a good steel clutchbell for starters. Better plastic on the gears. My Savage has ablot more HP but it doesn't wear out spur gears like the Redcat. LHS charges $5 for a new spur gear for the Savvy so $ isn't an issue. Like Popper said Alum upgrade parts. OH... ENGINE PARTS! We'd like to get stuff to make small repairs on our engines without having to buy a new one. Maybe a parts list for the .18 engine?? The gear issue I think is the most important though. If you get to run a Volcano keep an eye on those gears. The smaller Aluminum gear will start to wear quick. 1 piece of sand and you're done. I know you'll do what you can. You are like Keanu Reeves! The World Depends on YOU! LOLLLL.............

I would have to say for my Syclone I have been looking for upgradeable gears, clutch assemblies, and shocks. Also clear bodies for the 1/10 buggies. I think once you can start customizing your Redcat/Himoto Nitro's then more people would be open to buy them. I'd really like to see clear body shells for all the models.

more hop up parts and body designs. i dont care for the stock air filter and would love to upgrade that next but have no idea what might fit it and would love it if it was a redcat upgrade instead of a traxxas upgrade. also a larger gas tank, i run through that so fast and i barely have had mine running in the month i've had it (not redcat's fault. i'm a newbie and i beat the crap out of it)

Just have to ask,but Tbirdjunky what kinda Tbird ya got? (Got me a clean loaded '88 Turbo Coupe, & love it!) ... Um,My Tornado XP is pretty quick but what I need most of all is a better cooling head,my .18 runs pretty warm and I can assure you I've gone through everything and its not leaking but seeing it hit temps up to 340F makes me wonder how long this things gunna last,so... Engine parts, gotta have em! Some rims of a different design & color... And tires man,my XP eats em up! Gears, although I've been pretty lucky and still using the stock clutch bell and my 1st & 2nd gear look great after a gallon or so... I'm not sure when my luck will run out. Also in a different gearing... I dont get much acceleration after 2nd gear (normal?). And of course, anything to make it lighter and faster is cool with me cause I love this little thing and havent had one issue with durability,I look forward to adding future Redcat vehicles to my little stable of nitro's!

Ok for my tornedo XP here's what i would like to see:

Better Air Filter
Clutch bell thats more durable
Aluminium adjustable shocks
Engine Parts (as all will agree)
Upgrade dogbones (bent two of them so far)

Actually the engine parts we're working on right now
Yes, it's me...I just decided not to post on my personal account.

ANYWAY...I've still got this Volcano sitting on my desk. I'm going to talk to them about going to a hardened clutchbell, since you already know as a Savage owner, you don't want to run aluminum clutch shoes without one

And no, I took the other pill. that's why I'm sitting at a computer at work

As soon as you chop down the mightiest tree in the wood...WITH...a HERRING!
Seriously, though, we're going to get the breakage down. I'm gonna find out today if we can spec different plastic compounds for the gears and such, better clutchbells...at the very
least, the clutchbell shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of.

Oh, and nitrosteve, it was an '88 5.0L with a little engine work, nothin too special, but it was fun. I'll be gettin another birdie soon...probably a little more vintage, this time though

Clear bodies, you read my mind

between Pro-Line, Panther, and Losi though, the tire market is just a bit congested. on that front, I'm not gonna say to expect anything, but the servos and clutchbells are my biggest concern, personally.

Beyond that, as soon as I know anything, YOU guys will know.

Just out of curiosity...would anybody be interested in an engine exchange program? or how about a whole engine setup, including our new electric starter, OR a bumpstart engine included with a starter box?

Just some ideas I had that I thought I'd throw out there.

Hi,
In the Hurricane XP I would like to see carbon towers & plates etc. A much better & more reliable radio receiver system and I think there should be an alloy lower front arm available to complete the alloy hopups.
Design features I'd change would be adding C-Hub castor blocks on the front wheels or a pivet ball system for better stability and perhaps having various front & rear toe/castor blocks to give it more adjustability.
But overall a very well made package to start with.
I think parts distribution should be the first thing that desparately needs improving most importantly though.

I would vote for steel clutch bell and big front bumper to save us broken C-hubs and wheel hubs

yeah! it looks like that is going to happen, but you never know... the Revo uses the same deal I think and that is supposed to be a badass truck, it should take a beating and they chose to use the same system... maybe it is not that vulnerable after all. but then again... this is redcat and not traxxas. anyway, I am optimistic, I dont think there should be a big problem. also it looks like we should be able to find other brand replacements with less trouble than for the c-hubs. time will show
