It was apraised at 54 000 last year pluss tax say what you want. I have a 440 I built and it flies I have took the rear end gears out and swaped down to a 3.23 ratio but at the time it had 2.76:1 gears in it and at the revlimiter at 6600 rpm it was going 166mph I could pull away from cbr 600s and I raced the fastes production truck in history the srt10 and beat it from a stop, a roll on, and top speed! I am now in the middle of my custom efi conversion http://www.supersoda.com/detail.php?id=00000000121 enjoy.

ok.. nice 69.. But 166 mph is still hard. It would not be able to overcome 2.76 gears and push that body thru the air to 166.. I have a race car so i know what it takes.. I like your EFI project..

I belive ya! my dad knew somone with a charger that did almost 180mph (majorly hopped up)

i would love to put a supercharger in my 96 dakota with the 5.2magnum, 240hp and 300lbs of tq in something that weighs only 3200lbs. stock they do a 14sec 1/4 mile but throw in a supercharger and your prob looking into 10's if the tires didn't spin

wanna see something cool? look up the dodge viper venom 1000! sorry it has you beat by almost 100mph.[>:]

dont hate me because im a MOPAR guy.

whether it can or can't hit 166 mph, Radial TA's (or just about anything with the white letter/whitewall inlay in the sidewall) are about the last tire I'd run on any car capable of those speeds.

3.23 gears...you have the 727 or the 833 4 speed? I think both have a 1:1 top gear ratio...off the top of my head, 6600 rpm sounds reasonable, but that has to be one HELL of a 440 to be turning 6600 rpm. what heads are you runnin on that thing? I saw the sheetmetal intake (looks impressive)

Go weight your Dakota. You will find out that is close to if not over 4000 lbs. Make sure you weight it with YOU in it cause you have to drive it to see how fast it is too

It will never in a million years get into the 10's without major work.. Take the truck to the track. Ill bet stock its a 16 second truck.

yeah, lots of people think i have the second generation that does weigh 4000lbs. infact the 96 or first generation where the lightest and fastest of the dakotas (not sure of new ones though) i found this number on car and driver, consumer guide auto, and other websites. my dakota without 4X4 and with the bare bones slt package is mearly 3200lbs so with me in it = 3450. it has the most power to weight ratio of all trucks in it's class. somewhere in 12-13.5lbs per horse and less weight per lbs of torq

this little truck is a SLEEPER! but its no 166mph, maybe with the limiter ripped out 120-130mph

It is one hell of a 440 I built it. And when I say that I meen, I ported the heads bored it 60though over used hypeutectic pistons that weigh 330grams less than the stockers and did everything from tuning the carb to setting the rocker lash. It is not even close to stock. WHen I had the 2.76 gears I had a stock fan and turned a 13.6 at 105mph in edmonton but the problem was I was going through the traps in second gear I didnt shift to third till about 118mph.

$50 thats cheep try a few thousand if you mess up a street bike head! If you take your time, and use the right tools, you will be fine and a big benifit is you port from the out side of the sleave wich makes it less likely for you to wreck it if you slip!

In my opinion, if you only plan on purchasing a BUGGY because it is advertised as CAPABLE of reaching speeds of 80+mph, then you are not buying it for the right reason. You CAN get a buggy to do 80+mph but that requires a lot of time, patience and trial and error. The truth is, anything that size reaching any speed above 35mph is amazing, and the ability to control an RC vehicle decreases as the speed increases, which is also the case with 1/1 vehicles. At the end of the day, advertisements from ANY manufacturer of ANY product should be taken with a grain of salt. With that being said, I also believe that all RC hobbyists are concerned about the speed of our vehicles, and this is why we experiment with different engines and gearing. However, I think that we should also take into consideration the purpose of the vehicle that is being used, that is, whether it is a basher or a racer.

I have been into Redcats for about 1yr now and maybe a few years back they where advertising MPH I know some of the Bigger name brands do ie: Traxxas, HPI, Losi, so I think they stopped and let the other guys have at it in the MPH wars, but with this new Brushless line they are doing something..................... My Earthquake 8e was clocked at 46 MPH before I ran out of room and my buddy with lipos in his E Revo 1/16got 55 MPH before his esc shut it down and my buds Savage Flux went 41 MPH......... At these speeds they are a bit scary..... I know when the Flux and the Earthquakes front tires balloon up I wouldn't want to have to make a turn yikes.........

For what it is worth, I recently purchased a Tornado S30. After 7-8 tanks of fuel I put it on the road and put a radar gun on it. It got to 44 MPH before an unfortunate meeting with a guardrail. New wheel, muffler, front shocks and front shock plate will be needed to restore it. As scary as 44 MPH was, I don't think I want it to do 80 MPH.

Yea I know what you mean 40mph + is scary looking esp when the front tires are balloning up......... My bud just destroyed his Savage Flux put 3s 11.1 lipos in it and across the local high school parking lot got up to 60mph!!! itwas still accel up until he launched it into the rear bumper of his car........................I don't need to say anymore.

I don't see why anyone needs a car doing 80 in the first place.  I have a Jato that does a comfortable 60 and by the time I even get it going that fast (even with punching the throttle) I'm out of room so I can only imagine the space needed to go 80...just sayin
