Default hurricane XP pro

Has anyone got one of these yet? They finally have them in stock and I have been thinking about getting one. I run a revo now and want to try a buggy. Is it worth the extra money to buy the pro or stick with the basic one?

I do not have the hurricane pro yet but I have been hearing it is a great car. But the radio that comes with it is not that great. I have the Tornado xp 1/10 scale and people are having alot of problems with it. I personally like my xp alot but you really have to make sure everything is tight from screws tires engine seals everything. But I have heard the pro is awesome very fast. It will be my next purchase just because of all the upgrades already installed. I know i probably am not much help but I think you would be very happy with it. Hopefully other will post and help you out with your decision. There is also alot of help on this forum if you have any problems. Check out the Cen matrix also. It looks like a very solid car.

the answer is, it depends. What do you plan to do with it? the buggy is going to be a LOT heavier with all that aluminum. And for the extra money you spend, you could get the XP and upgrade to a quality FM radio.

Is that weight worth the extra strength you get from the aluminum? You really are saving a ton of money by going with the pro. All that aluminum already on there is nice.
The other option would be the xp and then just upgrade what parts you think are necessary. Another big plus with the XP is now it comes with the .28sh motor.

I guess it really just depends on what you intend to do with your car.

Think about this though Popper, the aluminum is going to transfer all that energy from crashes and landings to other parts of the car. Not that the other parts are necessarily going to break, but I would rather have my plastic arms break than something else, they are a lot less hassle to replace. Besides, why would you want to slow down your car with extra weight?

So you all think that if I were to go with a hurricane, just buy the xp and upgrade as I go?
I'm trying to decide on whether to get the r/c car or a new mountain bike.... It's a tough choice...

That's what I would recommend. It's what I did. Although, the pro definitely looks better, but how long is the body going to last honestly. I would go with the xp and then upgrade the stuff that breaks and leave the other stuff that doesn't, plus we have clear bodies now. So, you can always have your own unique paint scheme.

I think the XP is extremly durable. I've punished the crap out of it.... Stupid crashes trying to impress friends, etc... And all i've broken is a tierod.

The PRO seems like it wouldn't be worth it with all that extra weight.. Plus I love the .28 SH engine. Easy to tune, super fast, and runs very well.

your confusing me here. the 28 comes with the pro. how much difference is the 28 from the 27 that is offered in the xp?

thanks

apparently it's not official, but the new xp come with same .28sh engine as the Pro version. i have also seen the .27 infinity and the .28 sh run, and to me it seems the sh motor is torquier in low end while the .27 seemed to rev higher and a little faster IMO.

The .28 comes with the xp pro. The .27 comes with the xp and if your lucky you will get a .28 instead. I think this depends on the avalbility of the engine at the factory when it's built.

I got a cane XP Pro and its a great buggy, really has an aggressive stance, and always turn a few heads at the track. Its got a lot of power, it beats OFNA hyper 7s and a couple mugens at the track.
If the extra weight is a disadvantage, all the aluminum is i bigger advantage because i haven't had to replace any parts so far!! I only had a screw fall out of my rear lower shock arm because i forgot to locktight it!! The SH28 is easy to tune, i'm impressed by this engine, even tho i had doubts initally!!
And yeah the radio is crap i didn't even bother to try it when i took it from the box, i replaced it right away with an Airtronics MX3, so far this buggy is the best of my nitros!!

Does anyone know the acutal weight of the buggy with and without aluminum. My torpeda pro with aluminum weighs in around 7.25 lbs, I have the 1/8 truck also, without aluminim that weights at least a pound more.
