? on how to make the tornado xp with higher ground clearence
Has anyone tried grinding off the tabs under the the front and rear lower arms. I dont know if this is possible or even if it would work. Can your grind these off and put longer shocks on to get more ground clearence? It seems like with those tabs there you wouldn't be able to get more clearence even if you did put longer shocks on. Just wondering

Yeah we had a discussion about this the other day. I was looking at my tornado and notice the tabs under the car. I was just wondering if we could put longer shocks on. But those tabs i think will stop you from doing so. You might be able to get the longer shocks on but those tabs would to it from making a difference I think.
I have a pretty rough yard with all those dam moles, I bottom out pretty easy. Yesturday I roled my buggy about 8 times luckly nothing bent or broke. I bashed it pretty good yesturday and I was pretty impressed with the abuse it took.

u wont regret it thoes are awesome shocks, one thing tho, they seem to work better if u put the front shocks on the back and vise versa, there kind of expensive but well worth it, let me know how it works and post some pics.

All this talk about ground clearence.. Undo the top shock mount and let the wheel hang. Note where the lower A arm hits the chassis and remove the spots that hit. You can only go so far though, before the dogbone will bind up and create problems. Just like putting a suspension lift kit on a truck. Good luck guys. PS raising the center of gravity will cause more rollovers. Longer A arms are the key.

I would have to agree with you there to, but i will probably wait untill next spring to get one of those. Right now I just like tinkering with this one. You know just see what I can come up with.

JATO, JATO, JATO , already has longer a arms, great 2 speed trans (actually shifts and is adjustable), the suspension can really be adjusted for low road hugging and off road hight. Not to mention it would eat the 1/10 or 1/8 redcats and spit them out. not to mention the spur gear doesnt strip.
