Default RE: Monster Truck vs Truggy

According to what I've read and heard, the only differences are that a MT has more ground clearance than a truggy and a truggy handles better than a MT. Basically a truggy is a jacked up buggy, able to handle a bit rougher terrain.

As far as being the better jumper, I believe it's all about who's behind the trigger. You actually have control over the vehicle the whole time it's in the air. With practice, you will master the techniques. If you throttle it in mid air it will make the nose come up; if you brake it will nosedive. For instance, if you keep on full throttle, the vehicle can actually do a complete backflip!

If you watch some vids on youtube or putfile, you will see tons of buggies, truggies and MTs racing, jumping, crashing and bashing. Check 'em out...

You hit it right on the head abjones.

Another difference is that the truggy comes with a 2 speed where as the volcano has a one speed.
For reliability the one speed is king. The 2 speed has a tendency to strip gears if you don't have it set up just right. And to be honest you probably don't need the second gear in these cars. By the time you get going fast enough for it to shift the thing is already way too far away for comfort.

But if you do end up getting the truggy you can always just buy the one speed transmission and swap it in there.
