Default stripped gears help!! :(

What are the gears that the clutch bell turn? I have a volcano stx with stock everything and my engine wasnt tightened all the way and it shifted and stripped that big gear and the small one thats right behind it. the big gear looks like it has a spring behind it i believe. was wondering what are they called and where can i get some better gears?

They are part number 08013 differential gears. Make sure on your next set also that the purple spring is tight. They are sometimes loose.

Just tighten the purple nut all the way down on your next set. You can get the gear set from us www.allaboutfunhobbies.com or clearmont motor sports or Extreme Nitro, you can even call me at anytime by going to our contact us page. My suggestion is that where ever you get the gear box from make sure while you have the engine off to replace the Clutch bell and clutch with an HPI 18 tooth clutch bell and a traxxas clutch and spring set if you don't you will be very unhappy in the long run. Also get some Lock tight and lock tight every single metal to metal screw, check all your nuts and bolts through out the car.

On part #08023 moderate gear set it would be $23.50 on part #08013 Differential Gear Set
it would be $13.75 like I always say if you find it cheaper shoot us the link to look at, shipping should be around $1.25 or some where in that range it will be actual shipping. We will be gone from the 22nd of Dec till the 3rd of January.

its easy enough, take the engine out, you will see a screw at the end of the clutch bell, take that out, pull the bell off, take the bearings and washers out, pay attention to how you took them out, install the new clutch bell the way you took the old one off. make sure you mesh the gears good before you use it again, use a piece of looseleaf paper between the spur and clutch bell.

Thyreaper take a look at the thread [link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4207842/tm.htm[/link] You want to read post #252 it will explain just like ehroof said how to remove and replace the clutch bell. With pictures also.
