First of all I'm in a hurry on reading stuff. I was talking about that one part. Yea didn't know it was aluminum. But u know how
kids are, using other type of metal and not protecting it doesn't matter how shiny u get it, u could easily get rust on it. Anyways
wasn't here to talk ****.

yes, most nitro frames are aluminum since its light. the color on them is called anodizing, it has to do with a color dye mixed with chemicals and electricity and the aluminum is "dipped and soaked" in it and the color sticks to it, for lack of better words.

thanks for answering his question on de-anodizing for me.. the way i did it was the cheap way, i sprayed 1 side down with some easy off (oven cleaner) and let it sit for about 3-5 minutes, than sprayed off with water, than did the other side.. strong fumes, but works

Original Drano works real well also. mix it about 30% in water in a container big enough to fit the part in submerged and wait a few minutes while the paint bubbles and wash it off[:-]done it both ways...........fumes not as bad with drano

well, still havent received my parts, but i did finally receive my 2055 traxxas servo that took 2 weeks to get here and ive done a little more, got new fuel lines, cleaned it up more, painted my springs white, made a top plate (still needs polished) installed all my electronics, their up and working great now.. just got to wait on all my parts now, including rims/tires so i can get rid of the old dirty bald set i got now.. [8D]
(the steering servo is 2055 kinda hard to osee from the reflection, and the throttle is a 2018)
