Default whats a better engine?

i wanted to buy a new engine for my Volcano SV and i've been looking at the HPI Nitro Star .18ss and the O.S. .18TZ turbo i really dont like the VX-18 that comes with the SV if anyone has a better engine idea then those put it down also any good manifolds and tuned pipe ideas would be great info as well

os .18 cv-rx is an easier replacement, you can use the stock manifold and muffler.

Topspeedtoys sells sts engines, they are awsome engines. Finally got ahold of a couple myself, they are pretty sweet.

Default RE: whats a better engine?

i have a tornado bb and i wanted to look into getting a new engine (not anytime soon though) i want a really fast engine, but not too expensive. tower had some nice engines and i was wondering if these engines would work???

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...T=1&I=TRAG5407

would the 3.3 fit? and what would i need, like for exhaust and the header and all. i have an aluminum tuned pipe on my car now and i have a traxxas header.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJXT5&P=7
how about this one, its suppost to be fast...right?? what do i need for this.

it said something about rear exhaust. i never really understood that. whats the differenci between a side and rear exhuast. if you guys have any other motors that you think will work, please post them. thanks

easiest engine to put in, tons of power. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGGP8&P=ML the others you posted would need more work, different exhaust manifolds etc.

megatech is not known for their high performance. rear exhaust is better but i dont know if you can use it in a redcat without serious modification, the one i posted i have in a few of my cars and its real powerful.

Which of the sts engines would you use to replace the VX 18 or infinity 18??

Thats the OS 18 CV-RX(S), the S means short shaft and i'm not sure if that'll fit on your Redcat if your using a 2spd clutch bell

it has been done before also i would use a os plug a medium or hot plug and traxxas fuel will work and the stock air filter will work just be sure to put air filter oil on it after cleaning it

yea about 15min to put the new motor in you just gotta take out 5 screws 4 on the motor and 1 screw and nut that holds on the muffler just make sure you get the gear mesh perfect when you put it back in it is easier if you take the top plate off because you can see the gears better.

also post some pics of it i forgot what my volcano looked like new lol it stays dirty but im fixing to clean her up good
