do i need to fix clutch spring
ok well i just got my truck yesturday, its a 4wd truck (volcano stx) and im trying to break it in and i cant seem to get the idle right. most of the time when it idles it will idle for a little then turn off then some times (once so far) it will just go in gear while idleing but everytime i do get it to idle it will spit out little sprinkles of gas out of the muffler. i also cant get the finetuning to be perfect, oh yay when i idle and i brake it turns off so whats wrong?

RE: do i need to fix clutch spring
I just got a Volcano Sv the other day, when i got it started it just wanted to take of, i adjusted the idle down and everthing but the wheels kept moving. After reading most of the posts about a broken clutch spring i took the engine out to check and it wasnt broken. it had some stretch marks in though. So i went to the hobby store and got the traxxis replacment spring and put it on now it works fine.

RE: do i need to fix clutch spring
Hi guys... I'm new to RC... just got my first one, the Himoto Syclone with the VX-18 engine. Sounds like my clutch spring may be broken?? The first few tanks idle'd fine, but now during idle the wheels spin.
Before I attempt to take the engine apart, does anyone have any pics/instructions on what a clutch spring is, where it is located, etc.
Thanks,
Martyn.

raise the idle a little, its good to run it rich during break in, if your done or have ran a couple of tanks you can lean it an 1/8 turn to help run it better.
