truck doesn't wnat to roll
i have a volcano sv and i just replaced the spur gear. i put the truck back together and i set the gear mesh so that there is very little play around the entire clutch bell. when i try to run my truck it will not move foward until about 3/4 throttle and then still very slow. needless to say i didn't try this more than once. there was some resistance in the gears in the trans but not very much. i also set the slipper nut( purple nut in trans) so that it was just snug. i can roll the truck foward manually without too much trouble. the gears do sound a little tighter than they normally did. PLEASE tell me i just have something simple too tight.[sm=drowning.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=drowning.gif]

RE: truck doesn't wnat to roll
the clutch bell spins only when it is in the higher rpm's and yes the spur gear also spins. same is also true when i manually push the car.
the clutch bell is fine
the clutch bell is fine

when you first take give it throttle and the rpm's rev and it doesnt move, are the clutch bell and spur gear moving? if so you need to tighten the slipper nut more.

when i just have the truck sitting, not running. i can move the spur gear and the truck does not want to move foward. also none of the other gears in the trans spin. the clutch bell still spins.

RE: truck doesn't wnat to roll
it sounds like the slipper nut might be too loose. You need to start up the truck and with the top off physically look down at the spur gear and clutch bell and watch to see if the spur gear and clutch bell are turning but the trucks not moving, you need to physicaly look and verify this. it sounds like the slipper clutch is too loose. Personaly(this is my personal preferance) I tighten the slipper right down bam tight, it's more of a pain in the but than it's worth really, but I'm not tell you should do it, it's preference only, the slipper is supposed to be there to keep from stripping gears if the wheels stop suddenly.
