I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I finally got to run it today and take it off some jumps. Man this truck can take a beating and keep right on going!! I flipped it so many times today and a few times I was POSITIVE that I broke something... but nope! Everything is intact. I did however manage to crack the body... no biggie. Oh, and I also cut 2 holes in the body... one for the pull start, and one for the glow plug igniter. I got tired of taking the body off the start it. Overall... GREAT TRUCK, and amazing forum!

I got my truck off Ebay and broke it in. On 1/2 of the 5th tank during break in I lost all the screws on the pull start. Luckily I found some of the same size screws in some old computer crap and installed them with lock tight. Which gear or gears is everyone stripping? Ive caught 2 rocks in the big plastic gear so far. Also what brand of failsafe do you guys use? I bought one off Ebay and today it would make my throttle servo not respond. I had to cycle the switch on the reciver for it to start working again. After awile of running it like that the truck just took off on me full speed. It wasn't more than 20 feet away when it took off. Luckily it ran into some tall grass and stopped with out crashing into anything.

did you set the failsafe up or just plug it in? it has to be set to set the brake on when it kicks in, some of mine made it go to full throttle until i set it up.

has anyone ever hear of a metal spur gear for the sv pro? the factory plastic one is number #08013. I have a problem with the clutch slipping I think. the bell gets hot enough to melt the teeth off the plastic gear.

sounds like your shoes are slipping and heating the bell up.

yeah. no ideas on a metal replacment though?.
I am using the factory trans and slipper. I put in tha direct drive trans and 13 tooth bell. the truck would hardly move. no take off at all.and I had to change the location of the throttle linkage in the trottle servo because the engine is so close to the trans.
should that direct drive trans have less take off then the factory trans with the 13 tooth bell that came with the direct drive trans?.
the thing was screaming until the gear melted.

no, there take off and top end should be much better, sounds like a clutch shoe problem, what shoes do you have, aluminum or teflon?

factory shoes with t-maxx spring. but I put the factory trans back in and it ran great. didn't even tough the clutch at all. just put the factory trans back in with the new clutch bell and spring. maybe I will try it one more time. since the factory spur geat is now shot. I'd like to see that direct drive work. you say it should have better low end?. it was a real slug. maybe there was another problem that day. of coarse I will have to replace the clutch. isn't there a HPI cluch that works real well in these?

I have been doing the "spit test" as ehroof calls it, and after around 5 minutes of running, the engine is overheating. Should I richen then air/fuel, or what's the best way to help it run cooler?

Well, I have gone through almost a full gallon of fuel, and havn't broken a thing... until yesterday. I broke an axel on the right front... and completely lost it too. I am still really impressed with how well it has held up. Since it was only the front right, it still runs, but it's only 2 wheel drive now.

Ehroof, do you have any idea who might have 12mm to 12mm or 12mm to 14 mm wheel extenders? I want to put some larger tires on my Volcano SV, but cannot seem to find any extenders ! I would prefer 3/4 to 1". Any ideas would be great. Thanks in advance.Pete.
