Ehroof, do you have any idea who might have 12mm to 12mm or 12mm to 14 mm wheel extenders? I want to put some larger tires on my Volcano SV, but cannot seem to find any extenders ! I would prefer 3/4 to 1". Any ideas would be great. Thanks in advance.Pete.

hi pete, i know that hpi makes their rims with adapters, the tmaxx has 14mm rims and you can get a 3/8 extenders for that, why not just buy 14mm extenders, put them in place of the 12mm ones, you will gain almost an inch in width to the car.

I have the Sv and it has the 08064 axle and the 08065 hex wheel nuts. I f you try to put a rim on, where the hex mounting in the rim is too close to the outside of the rim, the tire rubs the body. In other words the mounting hex in the rim must be almost in the center, as with the stock rims that came with it. I figure, if I can find extenders I then can mount other tires and wheels. If I have to replace the axle with a longer one, that's okay too. I hope this makes sense. thanks, Pete.

ehroof, that's a great idea...where do I find these 14mm extenders? I've got a set of Hot Bodies type BJ with 14mm hex and found a set of 12 to 14mm adapters, but the tires rub the body of my SV. If I can just get a little more width to the hex hubs, alot more rims will fit. Thanks, Pete

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Hi everyone! I know this is a nubie question but then I am a nubie. I just bought my nephew a Volcano STX for his B-Day. I can't seem to get it started. I followed all the instructions, such as they are, but it still won't start. Is there something I'm not doing right are is there something wrong with the truck. I've pulled on the rope until I rubbed one of my fingers raw. Is there a better way? Thanks!

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Hey, I'm kinda a newbie myself...only been in the sport since January. Let me tell you the things that I forgot to do while starting one of my trucks. First of all, and most stupid, I forgot to attach the glow plug ignitor before starting my truck one time. I have also tried starting with a glow plug ignitor not fully charged; I've had a fuel line crimped and/or damaged so it was sucking air, not fuel. If you go to the main thread " Redcat racing Support" and follow the links, there is a ton of info and help you can count on. I hope this helps. Pete

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
how does the volcano sv compare to the traxxas nitro pede?
can the nitro pede's body fit on the volcano without too much modding? (i really like the look of it)
i like the looks of the traxxas, it just the volcano is 4wd, bigger engine, 4 more shocks, alot more stable, and 50$ less....

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
I'm new to this sport and recently bought a Volcano SV and LOVE IT!!! After breaking in the engine and getting the concept of these powerful little trucks i decided i would see what it could do in the air. I was hitting a little 8 foot gapper and clearing it but on my last attempt things went terribly wrong. I broke the left front lower arm, broke the support piece on the cheap stock exhaust, and bent the back left axle. My question is when i went to pull the axel out it wouldn't budge from the rear upright even with the two grub screws removed, how is this accomplished? My other question was if anyone had any good suspension setups for max travel and landing? Thanks, aaron

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
Does anyone know what 14mm hex hubs will fit the volcano's 5mm hub shaft? Or if it is even possible to upgrade like that, or if it is worth it. I can't seem to find any wheels that specify the hub size and when they do specify it is 14 or 17mm. Are standard 2.2" wheels a 12mm hub?
