I gotta quick ?, I hve Tornado BB, I've ranabout 10-11 tanks though it. I had to completely rebuild it after the first day of getting it, my bro crashed it at full speed. I replaced the chassis, gas tank shocks front wheels, front diff. has a alumin, custom buit stock tower, then I have a complete rear assemby, thats includes anothere diff, upper and lower arms hubs, and hexs.
Now I am going to seel it on ebay, with all this extra, How much should I ask for it. Thanks JEff
The hardest thing about trying to price these cars is the same thing that applies to real cars. If it had to be fixed to make it run-able it's not extra. It would be like putting a new engine in an old car. The car is still worth the same to everyone else except the guy who built it (because you know what went in to it). Even with the new parts it's a used car and I would be surprised if you could even pull the original price out of it. These poor cars don't exactly "gain" any value. It's more of the opposite. lol

Well I hit another problem with the 20t gear. I have ordered almost every one I have seen for sale and still haven't found one that will work. The one for the 4tec is so close it's aggravating. It's almost like the hole is right but thread is different. So for now the best we can do on a bell is the losi lst 2speed threaded bell with the rs4 19t gear and R40 24t gear. I'm not going to quit trying but it's the best I have so far.

Here's a question----Do they make a thread chaser that's the same size as the 12mm clutch bell? If so, I bet I could just run that through the 4tec gear to make it work..

The 4tec gear is a 12mm center but the threads are bigger. What would be easier? changing the bell threads or the threads inside the gear? I'm about ready to take a file to it and just jb weld it in place....lol

Hi Hibityhupla!

Thanks for the reply, you seem very knowledgable in the buggys.

I have 1 more question. I put my 2-speed in and the front center dogbone keeps getting jammed in the front part of the c-cup. please help.

Thanks

I had the same thing, i had to adjust the cup all the way back, make sure you still have the rubber O-ring inside your drive cups. Hope that helps, Jeff

My tornado shuts off when I apply the brakes. The trhottle wire pulls back on the carburator which closes it and causes it to shut off. How can I fix this?

You need to adjust the idle with the idle screw. If you just do it with the controller every time you hit the brakes it will die. Keep it open .5-1mm. It should stay that far open even holding the brakes.

Jato rear wheels and tires work good. You can get them off ebay all the time. Which front dogbone do you mean? Tranny to front differential or differential to wheel hub? The tranny one you'll have to take the engine and tranny out to do, the front diff-wheel dogbone you can remove the wheel and hub.

Jammed? To tight of a fit? If so try what numskull223 said. If you still need more room take the drive cup of the tranny and file down the back side a little(the side the faces the transmission. You shouldn't need more then 1mm probably. If too loose you can move that drive cup out a little. Just make sure it's not too loose or it will find its way out constantly.

2 wheel drive will almost always blow the doors of a 4x4 from the start. Thats why the ST is so much fun to race

Oh, i forgot, its a 2.5 rustler. I read that a traxxas 2.5 turns 50,000 RPM's, Is there any other motor that will fit a redcat that can turn anything close to that?

Is there performance clutches for Redcat cars?

-have a tornado xl and wanted to replace the tires, went into the live redcat support chat (when it was still there) and they said any 2.2 rims will fit. I read that the hex is a 12mm. I found some stampede tires with rims, and have read that the stampede uses 12mm hex as well. Can I put those big tires on my tornado? Will l have to change the gearing and/or clutch, if so, please let me know. (pretty much new to nitro r/c's) Thanks! These are the tires Im lookin at

Those mashers would be much to big for a Tornado....................you would need to go to the Volcano single speed gearing

Tallest you would want to get would be the smaller 2.2's or the low profile 30 series [:-]

here are the [link=http://www.xtm-dealer.com/30%20series%20tires%20&%20wheels.html]30 series tires[/link] and some real nice [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24&products_id=737]30 series rims that fit Redcat[/link]

If you like the rugged look there are [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24&products_id=722]Low profile tires with Volcano[/link] rims [:-]
