Man, i love my redcat-but if you have heard that parts are hard to find- they are right. only a few websites sell them and you'll probably never find one at a hobbyshop. It is easiest just to but off of redcat or from [link=http://www.nitrodeals.com]Nitro Deals[/link]. but overall, i love the tornado. it truthfully has completely blown away my traxxas rustler. It is a great brand.
If you know the part #'s it isn't so bad...If you don't know them just look through redcats site. just type in the part # at ebay. theres a few companies that have parts there. Also himoto and redcat are the same thing most times. so if redcats out try himoto.

Thanks a lot!! Hey, one more question (well a few more if you don't mind).........Would you recommend the S30 over the BB?? Do I have to make these changes the the S30 also, as far as the clutch bell and the clutch spring?? Are other brands (Kyosho, Ofna, Team Associated) really any better than Redcat? I'll tell you the truth my damn Revo that I had was super fast/fun but it was always broke! I guess that comes with the RC world but I was repairing something everytime I took it out. I just want to do it right this time and get something that.......yes, I can repair because that's really where most of the fun is, but also I want to have a good time driving it! For the price Redcat seems like a good deal and a quality RC buggy. Forums like this one also help people like me and make a huge difference come time to make a purchase. Thanks again for the help!!! Have a good one!!!

Ty
Not sure about the s30....never had one...Unfortunately they all break. Ive been through over 20 cars and they all have that in common..lol The bb is a good deal but you will be going through a few parts....Mainly transmission gears..but theres good news for everyone there too....I read himoto is making a metal tranny! That should be a huge seller...lol I found the stock engine a little lacking too but once again it's an easy fix and not necessary for all. You could swap you old revo engine into it.....The 3.3's rock in these smaller cars..

Just received my Tornado BB and noticed that the left rear wheel as alot more toe-in than the right side (so much so that that it slightly rubs against the body). I looked, but didn't see any way to adjust it. Is it possible, it must be possible right? Thanks in advance for any help.
should be two ball head allen screws in the wheel hubs. The big allen screw is for tension the one behind that is the one you want. should be able to adjust the front one out until it's straight.
ahhh i see now what was behind the big allen screw! thx!
you may want to find out the factory pre sets and adjust yours to match....when i got my hurricane i noticed the rear wheels were toed in slightly, after asking i found out it is adjustable but you want some ( 1 to 3 deg) toe in for better handling... mine also had some camber too, not saying yours don't need to be adjusted, i'm simply telling you you prob wont like the handling as much if you align the wheels up perfectly straight, especially if you run on tracks

Yeah, I just matched up the one that had too much toe-in with the one that didn't have as much. Now that i know how the adjustments are made i can set it depending on what's in the manual or whatever handles best for me.

So do you need to make these mods to a new Tornado S30 or not (I just ordered one on ebay)?

Are these all the part I should order and install before running it?

HPI Aluminum Threaded Pinion Gear 17T Nitro 3 - 76977
HPI Pinion Gear 22Tx12mm Nitro 2-Speed Nitro 3 - 76982
Traxxas Clutch Shoes/Spring T-Maxx - 4146X

I got into real cars around that age. I'm 27 now. I started playing with these nitro cars because they were much cheaper. My first project was a 93 Honda Del Sol that had around 10k in parts. Had to sell it. Every time i took it out i got another ticket. In less than a year I only had 1 point left on my license....lol

I would buy the spring just in case but you should be ok. Like i said, i think they fixed the bell problem. Maybe a spare tranny too. That way when you do burn up a gear you can run the new tranny while you order a new gear..

lol...It actually sits on my shelf under a glass fish tank. Worth too much to ruin it. I saw they discontinued the r40 and most of the parts I bought too. Might be worth more someday. Who knows....

That's a good question......I don't know of a store that carries redcat/himoto and traxxas parts... I always went through redcatracing.com or Ehroof for redcat parts. I Can ask Ehroof to see if he has both but I'll have to get back to you.
Traxxas clutch and spring(clutch shoes won't work) 4146x
redcat gear set 06034

i ran my tornado even though it's still front wheel drive, and it still doesn't have much power-it can't even rip off one of the front wheels from the ground. i have my engine tuned at what i thought was right, 2.5 turns on the lsn and hsn. did i tune it wrong or is it something else?
don't worry, i've got time before the right part gets here.

notice-when i was talking about the front wheel drive thing- i meant the rear center dogbone is busted

It's 2 1/2 out on the hsn and then flush with the collar on the lsn , then fine tune afterwards, correct me if I'm wrong guys.
Edit I'm guessing you have very bad take off speed?
