Should work fine. I've found about 90% of parts are swappable. Some just need a little work first, but that should fit no problem.

It is possible to make it start with a broke clutch if all the tires are off the ground. You can run it like that but you will have to stay moving constantly. The second you stop the car will die.

What do you mean doesn't react? Doesn't turn the engine over, just spins? Or doesn't retract? If it won't turn the engine over it's the one-way bearing in the back of the engine that goes into the pullstarter. Won't retract usually means the recoil is bad. I put a roto-start on all my cars. Saves a lot of skinned knuckles and time.

Pull your clutch bell off and check your clutch. If it's bad it will need to be replaced or you'll continue to have problems until you do.

I think it looks just like a bullet

Hey guys, so I bought a hpi mt2 al header and exhaust for my bb and firestorm tires, I can't wait for them to come in. I was wondering if you guys could just start throwing in some ideas for hop-ups, say under $30. Thanks

it is the end of a pen it was cut down alittle, than it was drilled out on each end to make it fit over the antenna and original post.

fuel filter, extra shocks, spare dogbones, aluminum tie rods, hpi threaded clutch bell and gears, spare tranny gears, fail safe, spare glow plugs, roto-start, new electronics.

yeah I have a bunch of scars from not thinking before working. My last one was good. I was carving a car out of wood with a chisel and slipped and stuck it through the skin in between your first finger and thumb. THAT SUCKED! I opened my hand to see what i did and my thumb kept going.

Thanks, I was wondering what brand of roto starter will fit the vx-18 and what back plate. Are there third party dogbones that will fit the tornado? and, what difference do you get when you change the # of teeth on the clutch bell? is a new clutch bell necessary even if mine is working fine? I know that having spare parts are great. Does the pinion gears need lock tight? i know it's a difference of 5 between 2nd and 1st gear. Thanks for the help guys

I got my roto-start from redcatracing.com. I tried a bunch of dogbones and the 06022 work the best. The gearing will change the speed smaller for more torque larger for more top end. It isn't necessary to change the bell right away. If you have the steel one I hear it's fine but the stock aluminum one sucks.

another idea if you just want to make sure it runs fine but not drive is loosen up the engine mount screws from the bottom and move the engine over far enough that the clutch bell doesn't touch the tranny. It will run but can't drive.
