RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
I can not belive it. Redcat makes scissors now. Any ways im getting my tornado tuned at my lhs and im getting it tommorow. I cant wait toget it because ive never got my .18 cvrx to shift gears because i ran out of gas in the middle of the tune and left it stting on the shelf for like 2 months. I was worried that i wasnt reaching second gear because my engine wasnt tuned properly or the engine is so fast that im not even close to 2nd gear.[&:] I will probably post a video on youtube if the tune is a sucess.
Ehroof have you seen my side hobby videos?

Hey guys, I broke my body after a few jumps. They seem so easy to break, do I have any other options than buying a new one?

yeah it's out of the body, not much of it though. the smoke is coming right out of the body.
and another question for all - do you keep the throttle adjustment nob set so that the buggy moves without having to hold on the trigger? just pushing the trigger down every once in a while.

yeah i know but do some people after they get it running set the nob to the right so it keeps rolling at its pace. it just looks like thats what racers do with their buggies in videos, smoke doesn't come out of the exhaust all the time when their moving.

i think he means:
what would the difference be if he upgraded the clutch bell to this setup: (that hyperlink) + (that other hyperlink) + (that other hyperlink)
will he get better performance, topspeed, or will it stay the same. he wants an exhaust header? like a tmaxx if it fits. and if it has any effect. (i think)
i'm pretty sure thats what he meant.
ummmmmm oh yeah i looked in the box that my tornado came in (it's been out for 5 months) and i saw some black clips that fit the shocks and their 2 different sizes. what are they. are they peload things or something?

thats exactly what the clips are for and that clutch bell will give a little more top end since its 1 tooth higher. 17/22 and the stock is 16/21

ok it just didn't look like it because now it looks like when i pick it up the shocks wont move up or down. i thought they were supposed to make the chassis kinda hand down low. like in videos. or in real life

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hello,
I just recently ordered a Tornado BB. I have not recieved it yet, and i am new to this whole Hobby! I have been reading were people say that the single speed transmission is better? is that true? and if so is that hard to change? Also is there anything i can do to the car to tune it up. I want it to be working when i want to use it, and not broke down!

hey brandon, the single speed is better for off road, 2 speeds are good for on road, the single speed gives you good low end and good top end, even power from begining to end. its very easy to change, just take the 4 screws off the bottom of the trans and pull it out and put the new one in, it comes with brakes and everything, very easy upgrade, you will need a single speed clutch too. besides the trans upgrade they are very reliable.
here's a link to what you need and a great guy to get it from:

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hey Thanks man. I will go ahead and get it, I can just change it back whenever i would like right? so i can just keep both and switch between the two and see what i like. Thanks for the links ! Got any other good things that i should do to it to improve the speed? About how fast does these little suckers go? said 60 mph but i can't believe that, lol. I have to go out of town when i need gas or order it but i got a gallon and one quart. hope that is enough to do the breakin in and have enough to play this weekend. I am hoping to get the car in friday. I also need a fail safe. Does that same guy sell them?

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
yes he does, if he doesnt have them on the site, email him about the failsafes. that should be enough fuel for break in and alot of fun too. you can swap the trans setups anytime, its pretty easy to do. i got 42mph out of my tornado xp with a radar gun about a year ago, its basically the same as the tornado bb.
Let me know how you make out with it, take your time on the break in and double check all the screws before you start to use it, you have to do this with all ready to run cars.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Yea i am going to take my time, because i would rather have it running right instead of screwing it up. Ya i think 40mph is fast enough for something like that lol. Thats enough to probally break a leg, wouldn't want to get hit by something like that. I got a free starter kit with mine, it came with a rechargable glow plug igniter and a batter required one. Is that enough or do i need more? oh and is there like some parts i should order to have extras? like stuff that breaks on a occasion, i have been reading on here that it is good to have some extra dogbones? thanks for your help man!
