if it flips over the ties will hit the ground first so you dont scratch up the cooling head

Hello all and thank you for posting so many helpful tips on this forum. I just received a new Tornado XL (Shockwave) in the mail today. I have gone through the break in procedures that I found on this forum and the car is running great. I still can't believe this thing is only $99! My two neighbors ran home and ordered one for themselves after seeing mine (we are overgrown kids that love our toys). Any how, the car is running fine except when I hit the brakes, then it dies instantly. It will start back up just fine though. Looking at the carbs, the linkage for the brakes is also the same linkage for the throttle. When I press the brakes, it is closing the carb completely. I tried running the idle screw further in, but it still looks like it closes the carbs completely when I brake. Should I adjust the stops on the linkage? I am sure it is a simple fix, but I am new to rc cars and don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

you need to keep turning that screw until it doesnt close when you hit the brake, its the one under the air filter with the spring on it.

welcome to the forum

lets make the most quotes in a post thread, lol. i have 2 tornado xp's, the only difference it the .18 engine is in the xp, the shockwave has a .16, i have the lightning, that has a .16 in it. the .16 has plenty of power and the tornado is a good buggy. I am very happy with my tornados, i actually put a single speed in one of mine so its exactly the same as the syclone except the engine. For that $99 price, you just cant go wrong
