RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Cool I think that I'm going to get the 99.99 version of the buggy of the buggy for my b-day. One more question how durable if the 1 speed version, are there any videos of it so I can get an idea of the speed and acceleration.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
i doubt you can really get a buggy to wheelie, the os will make your buggy much faster, its a much more powerful engine. check out the sh.18 too, if you trade in your vx you can get it for 1/2 the price and its more powerful than the stock vx

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hey guys, My Tornado BB finally came in yesturday.
I did the break in
1 tank on stand
1 tank on 1/4 throttle
1 tank on 1/2
1 tank on 3/4
1 tank on all of above
is there anyway to really know if you did a good break in? or does it matter, as long as i didn't gun it on the first tank?
One more thing, I find that when I give my car a lot of gas or when it does a somewhat hard landing, the engine dies, is it because it's too rich? if so I should adjust the top screw right?
Thanks for all your help guys

if its not running hot you can lean it, you just have to make sure its not stalling because its too lean.
check out these tuning video's, they should help you out, doesnt matter if its for hpi, its the same for pretty much every nitro engine

Thanks,
one more question, when you guys say that we should replace the radio to a futaba, do you mean just the radio or including the receiver and servos?
What are the most likely thing to be loosen on a outing?

engine screws, always check them.
since it comes with everything i would replace everything. i still run my stock redcat radio's in some of my redcats and its over 2 years on some of them.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
ehroof, I've got another question. I just got a new buggy. It's a IRC Vulcan SE 1/16th scale. I was looking at the radio system and saw the servos are little. Like about 1/4 the size of all my other cars. Do they sell a mini radio set or is that something I need to piece together? Where would I find a set? I found mini servos on ebay but they all say they are for planes and helicopters. Does it make a difference?

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
it does, you need something with decent torque to turn the front wheels and squeeze the brakes, they are mini servo's, if anything but a radio system without servo's and get the servo's seperate. i have heard that the traxxas reverse servo is a great fit for these little servo's and have good torque, i am not 100% sure about that since my tmaxx has a regular sized servo for the reverse.

i know which one your talking about. I have one on my revo. I'll check it out, Thanks.
How do you like the T-maxx? Is it bigger or smaller then the revo? I was thinking about getting one of those but wanted to know if it would be much different then the revo. Just from looking at pictures it looks like it has a better suspension system.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hello. I had to order new wheels and tires for my tornado XL. i got it today but redcat didnt send me the rear wheels i ordered., just the tires. they said they made a mistake when i called and are going to mail me new reaar wheels. but i am supposed to run my buggy Sunday at this track, and cannot because my rear wheel i currently have is broken ( hence the reason for the new order) and since they didnt send me the rear wheels i need, im kinda stuck.
i am lucky enough to have 4 good hobby shops in my area, but none of them carry anything for the redcat. are there any wheels for the rear out there that will directly fit my tornado XL? what kind should i ask for at me hobby shop. If none directly fit, can someone please tell me how to fit them?
Thanks
