They are generally the same when you get into the better ones (not stock ones). Check out the ones in this link http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/...sort/2a/page/2
I think the air filter oil is the most important part. I use the hpi spray can.

YA, they look identical except for some stickers. I would assume that the parts are the same. You look look through this forum to see some of the parts that will fit it from other companies like HPI. Also you can buy the ones from REDCAT or HIMOTO, they sell same stuff with different brand. (we prefer Redcat)

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Hey all, I have been reading through this thread in anticipation of receiving my new Tornado XL. I have found the info posted here very useful and when I have question I won't hesitate to ask.
From reading through this it sounds like I should go ahead and order some spare dogbones and a-arms. Also I will have to wait and see if the XL I get has the steal clutch bell and if not I will replace that. Other than the parts listed above is there anything that I should keep handy, parts of course, cause I would hate to go out and be having a good time and have a 5 dollar piece be the one that stops that fun.
Thanks in advance,
-Nate

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
nothing has broken on mine and i've run maybe 2 gallons in my tornado xl. i only bash with it and its done some flips, fell of of stuff...normal bashing stuff. the only things that have broken are the pull start, the radio antenne and now the steering wheel goes to far and gets stuck so i cant turn it. i don't know how to fix it. any one know how to fix it?

This isn't a must need right away, but I was hard on my car and my stock tires cracked. You may need a new set of tires real soon, because the stock ones are really crappy. Also, I had some trouble with the stock plastic tune pipe. An aluminum one will give you much better performance and it won't go bad on you. Mine melted and came loose. I would suggest you switch it asap.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Mine did the same. Sorry to tell you this but the remote is garbage. I had to go out and buy a new one. Does it screw up if you over turn it? if it does, you are screwed.
if you wonder what the cause is, I opened mine up and found that the plastic piece preventing the wheel from over turning broke off.

Radio's are the cheapest component on them, best is to replace it before it costs you more money than it's worth. Not all redcat radios are the same, but most are junk!

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
i think my dad might have fixed it with a little soldering on the curcuit board and some re-adjusting of some parts. i love having an engineer for a dad.
