hi can someone tell me if the 08064 and 08065 will fit on the tornado?
its the spacer for the volcano wheels it would make my tornado wider hope it fits
You could try this too.. TLT, Hi-Lift, Wheely King 3/4" 12-12mm Wheel Spacers Found them on ebay. I use them on a couple cars with no problems but they don't see air-time so I don't know how strong they are.

What's the best engine out there that still has a pull or roto start? I notice that once you hit a certain level they all go starter box only. Why is that? Do they make a bigger flywheel so we can use them? I kinda want to try the OS .21TM. It says it is a direct swap for the trx3.3. If that's true it should be no problem to drop in. The hardest part about dropping the 3.3 in was just changing the throttle linkage. Any thoughts on engines? Looking for something better then the os 18tz-tx (1.8hp 3000-34000rpms) more horse and rpms. I keep coming back the the Os speed 12tz spec2 (1.7hp 3000-45000rpm) but it's one of those that you need a starter box.

not exactly.. I'm planning on changing my gearing. Already have the redcat lightning transmission and a 18t/23t bell. Now I'm going to jump up to 23t/28t bell. My original second would be my new first gear. In my tornado bb with the os 18cv-rx and that gearing I can pull 55mph and the cv-rx is only good to around 33,000rpms. Already have a 18tz-tx but compared to the 45,000rpms the 12tz can pull it looks slow. At least on paper..lol The only reason I'm thinking about the .21tm is the 1000 extra rpms and it would just look "mean". The only other 1/10 I know of with a real big block was the schumacher fusion and from what I've heard it's one "bad-???" car. Everything I can modify for speed on the bb will work with my on-road cars(same set-up) and visa-versa. So yes, this is for a car but it could all be done to a tornado easy enough.

dude that would be soooo fast. u deffinatly would blow some diff's. it would be fun tho. i think go with the tz.18 b/c it wont need as much modding as a .21 would.

That os .21tm is supposed to be a direct swap for a trx3.3 and I've put one of those in a car that's almost identical. On that one the only problem was changing the throttle linkage. So it should be easy. I'll stick with the 18tz at least until I'm done playing rocket car..lol After that I'll start rebuilding it again....

The higher the % nitro the hotter it runs but the glow plug plays a roll in that too. If that's all you have try to get the os #8 glow plugs. They are a medium heat. It might help.. DO NOT let the engine get over 300F. Easy way is with water or even spit. Just put some on the head and if it sizzles your too hot. It should just evaporate.

couldn't really tell you... Never used one.. Sounds good though..lol

Anyone know of a back roto-start backplate that will fit the OS 18tz-tx? Bought one on ebay that said it would fit but it's for the 18tm not tz.. The tz has the two screws in the normal spot on the usual exhaust side of the engine and one in the center of the side of the engine that faces the chassis. Any ideas? Would it stay put with only screws on one side? Doesn't seem like a good idea....

sounds like you got the receiver wet. let it dry out really good. then to test it turn your car on but don't start it and walk about 100ft away and make sure that everything still works.

Ok, quick question. Part number 02040 Spur gear 44t. Some websites, including redcatracing.com, list this as for a two speed. Some give no description other than 44t gear. I counted the teeth on mine and it's 44t. But it's a single speed. Is this the right gear? I just want to make sure before I order.

thanks

Michael
