First of all eminent, torque is different than horsepower. You can't make torque and horsepower the samething, all though horsepower is a direction corrollation of torque produced at a given rpm. Second yes one can judge torque in relation to displacement as more volume is given to power production per stroke of the piston. In this way, for instance, a 3.0L car engine will produce less torque than a 6.0L engine. For example the OS.18 has a 15mm stroke/16mm bore and the VX .18 has a 14mm stroke/16.5mm bore. So in basic operation of engine mechanics, the OS.18 will produce more torque (longer stroke) and the VX.18 will achieve a higher rpm because it has a shorter stroke. In addition port timing for both intake and exhaust can affect engine performance for two stroke engines. Now don't get me wrong, please read my above post in which I stated I did have to replace my aluminum shoe clutch with a nylon one and hence the reason why I possibly wasn't seeing an increase in bottom end torque. Nylon does not grip as well as aluminum does. Also as you said the OS TZ produces significantly more horsepower over the OS CV-RX, even though they have the same displacement, because it has a slide carberator and rear exhaust both of which increase engine efficiency. Now I am NOT giving the OS.18 a bad rap, I am sure it produces more power over the VX...if it didn't I wouldn't have bought one. But as for a BIG difference in power production the OS.18 doesn't really have that much more over the VX.18 as say the OS TZ does. While I am at it did I say the OS.18 has a bigger carberator opening as well... omg that thing is huge!!!!! Anyway what I wanted to give was evidence to prove the OS.18 did produce more power over the VX.18...hell forums are FULL of people's opinions..however they do most often lack factual evidence. BTW eminent please spit out my head and give it back to me, I can see you chewing on it!!!

On another note, I have found some 3 to 4 shoe clutch designs that fit SG shaft engines, if you guys are interested, below are some links:

My tz is not a slide carb and the slide carb only changes where the power is on the rpm band. I was not chewing off your head man just stating some experiance. I had the sh .18 in my tsunami and it has more power then the vx so some people say and when I changed over to the cvr with the same clutch setup I noticed a fairly large power increase mainly on the low end (where torque comes into play)

yeah iv been running one for a while , you got to do sum plug swaping , i spliced in the reciver plug whith the one for the 4X AA pack so if my hump does go flat i can still run the stock one to . i mount my hump pack on the fron shock tower brace that joins the frame its a great spot its made for it perfect ..

Im using a 1300mah hump pack and it fits in the receiver box just fine. Im using a spektrum radio so the failsafe is built in, saves some space.

The only mods that I had to do were make the holes that the diff drive cups come out of on the sides a weeeee bit bigger just so that the bigger hpi cups didnt rub on the diff and they take just a bit more shimming to get the mesh right. And if your going to put the hpi drive shafts from the transmission to the diffs you can put the drive cups right onto the redcat tranny stubs. You just have to grind the cups that go onto the diff down just a tad so the screw pin fits through the pinnion hole. and whalla!!!! or you can bolt the mt2 crown gear onto the stock redcat inner diff cup and just use the redcat bevel gears the only thing you cant do is use the hpi crown gear with the redcat pinnion gear the pitch it not the same on the two. Thats the best way to do it or if you use the entire hpi diff assembly then your going to have to change the controle arms and put the hpi mt2 18ss cvd's (hpi has a 7mm ball redcat has a 6) and so on so its just not worth it (thats what I did) so in other words I have a "tsunami" at heart but so far its mostly mt2 parts in the drive train. If you have any questions feel free to ask man I just kinda gave you the quick once over deal lol there is going to be more to it when or if you try to do these mods lol But I do recommend putting at least the hpi mt2 18ss final gears in it less mods that way.

I drove all the way to the track just to find out that my tires are banned from it because they "chew too much" lol that why I bought them so they would chew and destroy I dont think they would do that much dammage but what do you do I guess.

I love the sound of a blower man I was going to put a turbo on my 1968 chev truck but I wanted natural HP so I went with a 383 stroker with 11:1 KB pistons AFR heads 225 cc runners and 64cc chambers comp 290 550 cam and so on. I want to get 12 ish e/t's at the drag strip no faster tho I dont want a harness or roll cage. My grandfather bought the truck new so I want to keep it almost stock. My s 10 on the other hand.......... was not so stock
