Yes that plastic c-cup is interchangable with the aluminum one. In other words your links are the same part... one is alum and one is plastic.

I was thinking of that an since I have a day off tomorrow an nothing to run then well.... looks like Im doing some painting. An Ill have much more time so I wont smudge the s**t out of it.
Another question;
What bodies fit on this? Or does redcat sell unpainted bodies? Be sweet to break out my airbrush an do a shelf queen body an basher body.

Yeah I would like to do the same thing with the bodies.
I don''t know which ones fit yet and I haven''t heard of anyone replacing one yet.... oh wait check that... yeah I do know of someone that got a new body. His project is still under wraps so I can''t tell you what it is but I can probably find out what brand it is so you can look at what''s available.

I have not been able to find unpainted redcat bodies. that would be nice though because mine does seem to be pretty tough and I like the design (style) of it.

If you find anything let me know.

In Fact if anyone has there tsunami nearby, can you give me a measurement in mm for the spacing between the body posts;
I.E. front to rear and side to side on them so I can start looking at similair bodies for measurements.

Any 1/10th Stadium body should fit, such as the crowd pleaser. Or you can look for bodies for the HPI MT2, they are the same basic size. You can punch the body post holes wherever you need them.

great, will look at some of hpi bodies, problem Ive found is too many truggy bodies are prepainted/trimmed so Id either have to enlarge the body holes or severly modify the trimming. would rather have a blank to do my own to

the tsuanami has more of a truck setup as far as body mounting goes, i dont think that a crowd pleazer would fit. I think something for the hpi mt or mt2 would be a better choice.

The savage body is 1/8th scale so its going to be way too big.
Ehoof might be right on the crowd pleaser, I think thats a 1/8th also. There is a similar body with a different name, sorry for the bad info on that one.

darn, they had too many cool bodies for the savage, like the elcamino. God I had one for my first car a 1969.5 with 380 stroker balanced/blueprinted double 4barrell 750cfm carbs on top of a weilan571 blower[>:] mean little bugger, just driving in stop an go traffic Id chirp in second when the 700r4 tranny do the ole 1-2 shift...course I was 20 (only 5 yrs ago) an always rode sportbikes so for my first vechile with doors (lol) I was a little unrealistic about what a daily driver should be able to do. My reasoning back then was I RODE a 9sec bike then I should be able to drive a 9sec car. Man I was niave after two trannys toasted an gobs of gas money I sold it.
Way off topic but seeing that body flooded back my memories.
They do have a dodge ram for the mt, out of stock of course but I emailed to see if its painted or not
we shall see

So I have a couple of questions.

1. I hear of alot of other people using other brands of parts in their redcat tsunami, like HPI parts for example. How do you know what parts are going to be compatible?

2. I've heard that its a good idea to replace your clutch bell setup with that of another brand. I was wondering what is a good one to use? Keeping in mind that I am on a budget.

Mine just literally exploded, I was having a problem starting, it seemed the clutch would be engaging too early and basically killing the engine before it could even start. So I took the engine out of the car (still hooked up), so that I could figure out if its an engine problem or if its some sort of clutch/gear problem. I inspected the clutch bell, there was a slight crack, but didn't think much of it. I noticed there was that interesting groove in the clutch shoes, and I didn't know what it was for at the time. Now that I've done a little research, I think that a clutch spring is supposed to go there. Anyways, It wasn't a good idea to try to start the engine in this condition, it started right up, revved up real high, and boom, the clutch bell and clutch shoes exploded into little bits sending shrapnel everwhere. So that's why I'm thinking about upgrading my clutch setup.

yes the cen clutch shoes and spring work good, or just the 4146x spring from traxxas and the hpi clutchbells are good also.

I'm thinking about going with the HPI clutch, since I've been hearing about it alot on the boards. I saw a link to the clutchbell, and the 2 spur gears. I have a few questions

1. Is that all I need or do I need other stuff like bearings?
2. Does that setup work with the stock spur gears?
3. I heard that upgrading the clutch can really make a performance upgrade, is that true?
4. Are there some good shoes to go with this clutchbell that will boost performance? And if so, do you know exact part numbers?
5. I need a new small spur gear 42t, since my other one is stripped. Are there any other brands that are compatible or better than the redcat ones? I figure since I've got the links to the clutchbell at towerhobbies, I'll probably want to buy the gear from there, but as far as I know they don't have redcat parts.

6. I heard that replacing the pipe gives a real big boost. Well I'm on a tight budget, is there any brand of pipe that I could get for around $10 that would work good?
