i must be way off
hello guys i havent tuned my volcano sv truck since i bought my blue header, aluminum pipe, and integy air filter. i could not for the life of me get it running correctly, at the end of the day it would run for a while descently but seemed to lack power, at the same time it would consistently shut off and be extremely hot with smoke billowing out, after a while it would cool and start up but i turned the truck off for good after it kept happening.i took a few pics of my settings and the items i have on it, any help guys im completeley lost

I can see from the picture that you have your high speed screw WAAAAYYYYY too far down. The highspeed screw is the one brass one in the second pic.

your running to lean, close the hsn needle and open it 3 to 3 1/2 turns, you need more fuel since you hopped up the engine, its sucking in more air and pushing out more air.

[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]oh my god!!! after i adjusted the needlet correctly my volcano sv was screaminnnnn!!! i cant believe it it runs like a completely different truck, especially the top end, it keeps pullin away , im extremely impressed, i was gonna buy an os engine pretty soon but i think ill just wait till i blow this one, man im gonna buy some 13 and 15t cluctbells add an aluminum vented flywheel and search for a better cooling head and enjoy this puppy.i honestly think it was mostly my new vented cb that made the truck run better though,im happy as hell
