I sold all of my nitro and gas planes and bought this car. Are car engines broke in the same way as plane engines? Run it rich for a while and then lean it out.

Also I am ordering all of theses Items tommorrow is there anything else I need.

Good luck with the lightning I really like that little car and if you ever stick a good .12 in it you will be amazed. as for break in if you have a method that works do it. There are so many different ways people tell you to do it its not even funny. If you want a better idea I would suggest you go the the SH engine site and check there engine break in. Its very close to what I do and I've had good luck with it

bro, you want that car to scream, put an 0s.18 cvrx in it. you will be happy with that car, there are not many complaints about it. your taking car of the 2 biggest problems, clutch bell and spring, now you just have to watch out for curbs and parked cars. Have fun bro. Let us know how it goes.

yea deff... Ehroof remembers when I 1st got my lightning... a better engine would be nice for it yes... but the lightning is a great car... I dunno why I ever gave mine to my brother after he smashed and crashed it while I was gone... but I am gonna admit... the Lightning keeps up with my NTC3 pretty good... but plus its because hes runnin 40 %. and I'm runnin 25 to keep it safe for now... but send some pics of it once you get it and get everything on it. I want to see how it looks

Yes but at full throttle it dies. Runs great up to half throttle then when you hit full throttle dies with a puff out the exhaust.

did you break it in, if so have you touched the fuel needles?

Can some one help me out here. I can't get this car to run right. revs up and down at half throttle and at full throttle winds up for maybe a second then dies with a puff out the exhaust. Temps get up to 300 + I really don't what that means but I bought a temp meter. Needles are at factory settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you changed your glow plug, if not i would suggest to do so, expecially after break in, get an os a3, hot plug, works good with these engines.

Seems the car is running too lean, that would explain the high temps and the engine stalls at half throttle. Open up on the high speed needle 1/4 turn at a time run it around until you are able to give it full throttle without it dying!

Yep sold the car LOL actually traded it for a savage. It was the gas tank any ways.

I traded the car for a savage and ended up rebuilding most of it. Last time I do a Trade. Anyways I had a Smaxx and sold it to my neighbor so yes just running the savage and I really like it. More fun with off road. Just breaking in the new 4.1 I put on it. Hope all is well with you guys and thanks again for all the help.
