RE: radio/controller/transmitter/wat ever u want to call it
You basically have these components:
1. Transmitter (pistol grip controller)
2. Receiver (small box with antenna wire)
3. 2 Crystals - one for each the transmitter and the receiver
4. 2 Servos - one for the throttle/brake and one for the steering
6. Battery pack for the receiver
I recently snapped the wire off of my receiver box after soldering on a single piece of CAT-5 cable and will be likely ordering a whole new radio system so that I can get a better receiver, transmitter, and servos.
Depending upon what you broke, you can replace components individually, as in my case I could shop around and find a replacement 2 channel AM 27mhz receiver and use it as long as I removed the crystal from my stock one and installed it into the new one.
Hopefully that helps, here is a good upgrade for the entire system - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXEDP1**&P=K
If you look under "Includes" you can see all of the components that you get.

I do believe if you open the controller/transmitter up, you can get the crystal out of it.
Hey, if you are interested I have a stock transmitter available ... I just purchased a Futaba 2PH transmitter, receiver, S3003 servo, and a JR Z650MG servo.

you dont need to open the transmitter up to get the crystal out, its in the front top of it, with a number like 27.125 on it, just pull that out and there is your crystal

thats it, you just have to make sure your new controller is the same mhz as your old one if you want to use the old crystals, like 27 or 75 mhz
