Default BAZOOKA, REDCAT, TORPEDA 1/8 BUGGY GAS TANK LEAK NOTICE

HEY GUYS. Check the gas tanks for cracks. I have a .21 Bazooka and .27 Torpeda 1/8 scale buggy plus one new tank in the bag...All 3 tanks have a crack in the same identical spot from the factory. The crack may be located at the brass coloured nipple that screws into the tank and feeds the carb.

Other than that and checking for loose screws and a so so radio...the buggies have been most enjoyable...

Please post if you have had this problem.

Yes had the problem on both of my torpeda's but mine was where the over flow tube runs down it to it hole and it does not line up so if you titghing the tank srews to tight that will crack the tank. So the fix was to tell them and they sent two tanks out and I just did not tighting the screws so tight and all is well. t

I ended up using Permetex Moto Seal gasket maker. This silicone is fuel resistant and dries hard after a couple of days. Make 100% sure the area is oil free (brake cleaner works good)and smear across the affected area and leave it for at least a day. I have used a mityvac to pressure test the repair and it holds at 5 psi.

This is not a good thing to have for a buggy targeted for the first time user. But I guess that is what these forums are for...

No problems with mine apart from the crap radio system that came with both my Bazooka's - they are both now excellent thanks to a 15Kg steering servo and the Spektrum radio system.
