Custom cool air intake....
Here are some pictures of an air intake that I decided to make one day when I was bored! I was waiting on my new single gear tranny from Clermont, which came very fast! I haven't run my truck with the new tranny yet, but will let everyone know how well it does. Anyway, I bought a crankcase breather for a car and some 1/2 inch clear tube from a hardware store and it cost me about $20. Make sure the filter is the kind that you can oil, some are not, and if you add oil to them they will run like sh@#! Let me know what you guys think!

Looks pretty cool, probably a better setup for breathing due to the air filter in contact with the air. The only drawback is that it will probably get dirtier faster.

The stock foam filter on mine got really dirty within a couple of days, and it has a small surface area. This filter setup has a lot more surface area, so it will take longer to see a drop in performance and I will probably have to clean it half as often and it gets the filter away from the hot motor.

It is really hard to tell, because Ididn't run it with it until I changed transmissions (single gear tranny from Clermont)! It didn't slow it down, thats for sure. My truck flies with the new tranny and cool air intake! I might switch to a 12T vented clutchbell and upgrade my clutch, just because I am more of an off-road kind of guy and want a little more torque and it is already too fast for what I do with it now!
