Default Why cant I keep Steering servos in my Hurricane?

I killed the Hitec 645 mg in a matter of 3 tanks.

Ive tried keeping the built in servo saver as loose as possible, I guess I need one at the servo too?

Also my alloy steering plate keeps bending as well, any carbon fiber peice from another buggy that work?

i would suggest getting a servo horn servo saver, a little more reliable than the built in one and for $5 or so its cheaper than replacing servo's.

I agree with eddie. Thats what we use on the hurricane and havn't had a problem. Before then, we went through servo's like you are doing lol.

Ok thanks, I have 2 futaba spline servo savers. Back to my plastic geared servo till I get a set of gears and a saver for the Hitec.

Also dont set the servo saver on the steering arm too loose. If its too loose you will break servos. It needs to be relatively firm without over screwng it down. I really dont have any issues with mine.

Which servo saver are you talking about, the one that is part of the buggy, or the one on top of the servo?

the one that is part of the buggy, if you put one on the servo to replace the servo horn, make sure the built in one is stiffer not loose because you will be steering all over the place.

yeah sorry the one on the buggy. The tension needs to be somewhere in the middle. If its too loose it wont absorb the bumps & hits on the steering and you wont have firm precise steering. This is especially evident when cornering and having the servo saver set with some tension keeps the wheels firmly pointed in the direction you want your buggy to go in. On the other hand if its too tight it wont absorb the hits on the steering this will put your steering servo under stress as well. So its a fine balance in between i guess.
