Good Failsafe
I'm new to RC, haven't made my purchase yet, but I'm very close to picking up the Hurricane XP Pro. I've heard I should get a failsafe, or I might start crying lol. Is it true that the throttle can go wide open and usually does when the car becomes out of range? That's a very scary thought. What is a good failsafe? Thanks.

RE: Good Failsafe
its very possible, ask redcat danny about mine, it took off, 2 times and i use a spektrum radio, i just sent it out to get it fixed. I would suggest a venom failsafe, no temp or anything like that, just a plain old failsafe, here is a failsafe at a great price too:

RE: Good Failsafe
There are a bunch of different brands of fail safes and yes a nitro car can take off at full speed if out of range of the radio or if the batteries go dead, fall out of the battery holder, or the radio glitches. Personally I have always used Imex fail safes and have had good luck with them. I can't speak for the other brands but Imex monitors your battery voltage and applies the brakes when your battery voltage gets to low or the radio glitches. One style warns you with a buzzer if the battery voltage is getting low or the radio is glitching.

RE: Good Failsafe
the ebay one works great, my batteries got loose in there holder twice and it took off wide open. not good..
now if they get loose its quick enough to set the throttal back to idle.

RE: Good Failsafe
Hey while your at it, take some black electrical tape and wrap it around your battery holder to help hole your batteries in.
Yes definately buy a failsafe. Just a simple one. Avoid the venom smart temp as its very unrealiable so just get a decent temp probe separately. Also people should be aware that even failsafes are NOT fail safe as such. They should detect a drop in voltage before the battery goes completely dead but they are known to suddenly loose power altogether and when the failsafe is not powered, you are not protected! Something to be aware of.

RE: Good Failsafe
I bought one from Suprasales a month ago, and it even flashed when my batteries were low. I need to buy another for my 'Cane XP too. You are correct ehroof the English on the back of the package was not all English...but as we always say" I wanted to be a English major, and now I are one"!
