tsunami body & other Q&A
Hi,
I will start by saying this is my first nitro rc car. My brother found the tsunami and ordered 3, one for him, his friend, and myself. I really think this car was a smokin deal for the price, and have had very little problems with mine so far. I have had a lot of fun with it. Its fast and so far i have beat the hell out of it and it keeps going. The other two cars have not faired so well, as they have had clutch problems, trans problems, and they both even melted the mufflers. I noticed some big differences between my car and thier cars. mine had the aluminum shocks instead of plastic bodied ones. it also had a muffler that seemed to be made out of much heavier duty material thought it is the same shape. We all three have had to repack the tires with new foam, as the foam that came in them just disappeared after very little run time. Overall though, we have all had a great time with these and im already looking at buying a 1/8 scale redcat car in the future.
In the meantime though, a question. Could i use a volcano body on my tsunami? i really like the look of the truck body, and it would help me keep track of my car a little better when we are all three going.
Also, we have ordered the aluminum pipes for all three, should i expect a noticable performance difference?
And finally, is there some trick to keeping the body pins in! It seems everytime i roll it over [:@] i lose one or two. And can these be purchased in large quantity from a local hardware store? I had tied mine to the body using a needle and some thread, but the thread is too week and gets torn easy. i was thinking about using some fishing line instead since that would probably hold a lot better.
anyway, thanks for any input, and thanks redcat because even if my car blew up tomorrow i feel ive gotten my moneys worth of entertainment out of that little thing!

RE: tsunami body & other Q&A
Yes the Volcano body will fit your tsunami. It depends on what kind of pipe you ordered. If you ordered a stock aluminum pipe from Redcat then you won't get to much of a preformance difference, if you ordered an [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_17_30&products_id=191]RPM Pipe[/link](long and narrow) then you'll get a preformance boost in the top end range of your RPMs, somewhat slugish at the bottom end, If you bought a [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_17_30&products_id=614]Torque Pipe[/link](short and fat, dual chamber) you'll get a ton of power at the bottom end(take off) and not much at the top end of the RPMs. You can buy some things called body slip holders or you can just buy a bunch of the LHS You could also use a piece of thin wire and drill a small hole in the center of you body and hot glue the ends on the wires to the inside of the body.
