Default Why do Redcat's cost more?

Hey everyone, I know Redcat and Exceed RC are essentially the same thing, and I want to get 2 1/10th buggies, a nitro 2 speed and an electric. At Redcat the Nitro 2 speed is $189.99 and the electric is $129.99, for a total of $319.98. At NitroRCX.com the Nitro 2 speed is $159.00 and the electric is $87.95 for a total of $246.95. That's a difference of $73.03. Why are the Redcat's so much more?

Same reason you find brand new Jato's and HPI savage x SS on e-bay for a lot less than even in an online store...........there is always someone out there willing to rape the product more than the next guy[>:] you think the price of the Redcats are high you should see what I sell them for[X(]

You think I'm paying $73 for that??? lol.

So Redcats have a better clutch, and exceeds don't have the pillow ball suspension?

The one thing Redcat has going for it IMO is the lifetime engine replacement warranty, does exceed have anything like that?

Yes the Exceed 1/10 buggy doesn't have the pivot ball suspension. It has the suspension like the Shockwave. Also their truck is like the old stx with smaller tires and no pivot ball suspension. Plus we have almost every part for all of the Redcat models in stock I don't think that Exceed does.

Ok thanks. Does the electric tornado have the same suspension setup as the Shockwave or the Tornado BB?

Ok thanks everyone. I may go with a Shockwave and Tornado EPX then, I can always upgrade to 2 speed later. By the way you guys are fast! I never get replies this fast in the Traxxas forum....lol

Oh I have another question, is it possible to buy the chrome wheels that the EPX has for the shockwave? I really like those wheels.

Thanks!

Does the redcat warrant still apply if I buy it new on ebay? Their listing says they're an authorized dealer.

YA MAN, you get to be here with us and watch all the fire works that happen every so often, LOL. Redcat is at least trying to make Hi Speed Toys improve the product, so of course in the natural evolution of things as the product improves the price goes up, PLUS redcat is using the SH engines and a better network of dealers.

Not sure on the 1/16 electrics. I would like to do some testing on them before selling them. I want to make sure that most of the bugs are worked out first.

That is something I would definately be interested in buying. Himoto has them but they charge $30 for shipping.
