Default Volcano EpX with brushless motor

Ok here is the Volcano epx with our brushless motor in it. It is way to low geared with the stock pinion. It needs like a 22-26t pinion.

I used a 7.2v 4600NimH Venom battery. I would say that stock it is almost as fast if not just as fast as the Volcano sv but with a bigger pinion it will be way faster.

Ok now can you use a lipo battery or a 8.4v hump pack. If so I think it will be on par with other brushless.

Yes you can use a lipo. In fact it says for best results use a lipo battery.

I bet if you use lipo or 8.4v it will wheelie. What is the max voltage that it can hadle? People are going to want to know.

if it were heavier it would wheelie bro. On take off all 4 wheels spin.

It says up to 9.6v in the instructions

Take it in the grass then. It may just wheelie. If it handles 9.6 volts then it should be pretty fast givin the right battery combo. Looks good so far though. I bet it could be faster than the nitro volcano if set up right.

What transmisson parts had to be upgraded? I have a stampede and was thinking about upgrading to brushless but I thought becasue the volcano is 4x4 it would be better.

It should work great in the stampede.

How is the handling of the volcano compared to the stampede?

I still use these but....wouldn't the tamiya plugs melt on a brushless motor. Mine are starting to melt with a brushed.

i would suggest using deans plugs on a brushless setup or any modified motor. the volcano could outhandle a stampede, its lower and wider.

I was thinking of maybe the Velineon system in a volcano or a nitro volcano w/ upgraded engine (as you read in other posts)

start with the nitro volcano, then go from there, you will be very happy and suprised by how well it handles and how powerful and fast it is.

What KV is that motor and how were the temps? What gearing were you running? Thanks.
