RE: Tornado with truggy tires????
Thats what I was looking for. How does it handle with that setup compared to stock and do you run it on dirt or street?? I am looking to run my Tornado on the street, do you have any tips on suspension or tire setups??? I have also considered using smaller tires off the Lightning to lower the car and get more low end power but I am concerned about the width of those tires.

RE: Tornado with truggy tires????
it works pretty good and looks great, check out my profile.
i lowered mine by moving the shock mounts to the top holes. i only run it on the street and it handles alot better.
if i ever get around to it im gonna switch to the skinny tires like these
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRLP0&P=7
because ive notice that top speed in second gear has suffered with the added weight or wind resistance.
i also have the os 18, it just want wind out second with the wide tires. i put the stockers on there and its screams.
but yea i do like the wide tires though.

Here is what I,m doing with mine I went ahead and ordered me these tires and rims a set of four, the first picture of what it's going to look like rims and all, there going on my 1/10 4 wheel drive buggy. These rims are 12mm hex on the back side same as the ones on my buggy now.
The thinking that bigger is better remains true. These were the thoughts behind the new MOAB 2.2” tire for 1:10 scale trucks
· Aggressive / realistic tread design
· A whopping 5” x 2.25”
· Comes with foam inserts
· Designed to work on a variety of terrains
I got the tires off of ebay as well good price to
http://search.ebay.com/search/search...2FR&category0=
And the rims are 2.2 Mudrock beadlock chrome rims
2.2 Mudrock beadlock wheels comes in dual side beadlock setup to ensure it is absolutely the best wheel available.
Beadlock wheels lock directly onto the tire eliminating the need for gluing your tires and keeping the rims reusable.
You can get the rims on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ws/eBayISAPI....m=110143852682 that is priced for a set of 2 so you would have to get 2 set's

Them wheels are the same size as mine. Tornados run pretty well with them on.
Have you got any pictures of your Tornado?

check that your brakes are not dragging, do this by rolling the car around with it off and see if there is resistance and make sure nothing is binding on the drivetrain, like overly tight mesh on the clutch bell to spur gear. if your worried about it turning a blue color, thats normal. also dont drive around extreemly slow, this will make the clutch shoes slip inside the bell and the friction will make it run hot.
