Default RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live

You can now see all RTM models by going to our website

[link=http://www.redcatracing.com/products.asp?type=ready%20to%20modify-%20engine,%20electronics%20not%20included]RTM vehicles at Redcatracing.com[/link]

All info is not up just yet but at least you all can see pricing.

All models include everything except fo the engines, servos and remote controls.
Currently only one color per model type is available and you can see them for the 1/8 and 1/10 scale when you go to the site.

All models will have chrome rims even though the images may not show that.

Available end of February.

Thanks

Darin

Since the RTM models don't come with the servos, does it have the steering link and plastic piece (don't know what it's called) attached to the servo?

IMO This seems like a good idea but just looking at the price it will be more expensive than just buying a pre-built one. Like if you get a tornado RTM for $120 and a motor is $90, thats more then the one you can get with everything on it. I think you may think about lowering the price a bit.

I think there priced right, do to the fact that when people buy a fully equipped one with only stock, they will replace it all, servo's, motor, and transmitter which by giving a $100.00 off, saves us $100.00.

The idea is to use equipment you already have ( engine, radio)
I agree though that I would have liked to see them a little cheaper, maybe around 179 (hurricane)[sm=72_72.gif]
I think the price of the monsoon is spot on, though.

Keep in mind that the MSRP on Redcat's site is just a reccomendation. Once the dealers get their hands on them I think they will be a steal! Now I just wish I had a motor layin around begging to be put in someting!!

Its a great idea but... prices seem high to me too. Example. RTR Tornado is $189 and the RTM version is $119.(list prices) So for $70 you get an engine, servos and a radio.. Buy the RTR and remove that stuff and save it for spares or sell it on ebay for $100. Thats puts you $30 cheaper then the RTM version.. I don't get it. I think the RTM version has to be more then $70 cheaper then the RTR version..

If I bought a RTM version and bought a Redcat engine, servos and radio it would be wayyyyyyyy more the the RTR verson and I would have have to put it together..
Am I wrong??

Most people that buy these have sold truggies or buggies they had and keep there motors and servos and electronics and just sell them as rollers this way whatever they buy new they do not have to spend it all again to replace the stuff. For example I sold my Mantis truggy as a roller for 220.00 without anything on it and bought a ST-RR for 650 so I only have 420.00 into it and installed my motor, servos and electrics from my mantis on it and that is all I have into it. 450.00 into a ST-RR!!!! If I did that and bought a monsoon RTM I would have $0.00 into the whole truck. That is the advantage of a RTM or a roller. Price seems pretty cheap now huh?

I understand the whole point of the RTM, as I believe I said earlier ( look up), but I feel the RTM price is still too close to the RTR price. Only $100 diff. Hell, the engine is worth more than that.
If you feel good about the price, great..could be better in my book

I am really only complaining about the Hurricane price. The monsoon RTR sells for $349, the RTM $219. $130 difference. Hurricane is only $100 Difference[sm=72_72.gif]

And yes, almost anything compared to an ST-RR is cheap

your forgetting the original price you paid for the Mantis truggy. Take this into consideration and the ST-RR ain't $420 .. is it??

exactly.. I paid $99 for my RTR Shockwave. The whole darn car!! lol

Darren, question.... How about the other end of the spectrum.. What would the market say if you installed high end conponents on Redcat cars? Say.. High end fm radios and high end (fast and reliable)servos and quality engines.. Do you think that there would be a market for that? I def would be interested.. You guys can surely purchase conponents at a better prices then us anyway..
