Default Hurricane XP Pro

HURRICANE XP PRO... New In January...

These looks like lots of fun however just need to iron out its little problems... I have found a couple of issues after the running in period of the engine that might be of interest to most...

1/ Front top steering Knuckles screws are only held in there by 2 to 3 threads and seem to strip the thread out of the knuckle... You might want to upgrade them by putting in a longer screw (3 to 4mm)...
2/ The New Optional Parts available on the box... Mind got supplied with the New chrome plated wheel rims.. After the run in period they all had hair line cracks around the centre nut area.. after 2 tanks 2 of the wheels have cracked right through in a couple of places.. Don't Recomend these wheels at all...
3/ Keep an eye on the Rear Lower suspension hinge pin set surclips... Mind keep coming off...
4/ Watch out for the Upper Rear Reinforcement link screws.. Mind keep coming out...
5/ At the exhaust bend melts your body shell unless it's placed correctly... Same with the exhaust tip on the splash guard...

I've emailed Redcat Racing with my findings however would like to think they will come to the party on upgarding these poorly constructed rims that were supplied with aluminium ones rims and tyres.... I'm happy to pay the difference...

Does anyones else have similar problems or have other little ironing out problems on there Hurricane XP Pro I haven't found out yet???

Cheers Phoody
This car looks like serious fun 4 all!!!

I only just got through the break-in runs with mine, so take this with a grain of salt...

I haven't noticed any of the problems you listed except MAYBE the rims. Granted I smacked a curb with the right front and it broke up pretty bad, the front left I nudged and it only cracked. I have tons of CA glue and accelerator hanging around so I remedied the problem to get me through the break in and ordered up a couple of sets of tires/rims. problem solved.

And yes, I'm a newb and wasted the rims during break in...

Thanks so far guys...

The car didn't come with the standard rims with the car... They came with the NEW Optional Parts Chrome rims like the ones on the box... A 6 double spoke style... Are the standard rims stronger?

Are we mean't to undo all screws and bolts and loctite them all to stop anything coming loose...

Cheers

diff locktite the 4 screws holding down the motor mounts..and anything thats going into metal.... I bought some longer screws for my front upper arms today...even got a bigger hex hole..and bought a little longer motor mounts screws that are stronger and less likely to strip the head..bought twelve of each and a foot of allthread and some nuts to make the connection on upper arms were the 2 allum. pieces go together...all that for less then $3...

The alloy wheels are great and you can change tires without ruining the rims draw back is hard crashes though..........when they bend its almost impossible to straighten them out

LOL, i guess thats a complement so thank you, lol.. i love em and they only weigh 8grams more then the stock ones.. plus i have found the solidness of the aluminum and extra weight on the tires, heck of alot more control and feels better.. not on the nitro tho, had em on my electric.. nitro aint even broke in yet@!@!!!@!@
