Default snowcruiser_91 Tsunami Problems

ORIGINAL: snowcruiser_91

ok, so i checked, and it was out too far, so i pushed it in, and felt where it went, and now the screw actually goes in when screwed in, but i dont see a difference in the gap at all...not really sure if i should or not....so it still wont run....i have the HSN set to about 2.5 turns out, the LSN flush with the collar, but i dunno where to put the idle set too...once i get it started i can see if i need a clutch spring, but might i need a new carb because the idle set needle still makes no gap adjustment? the throttle trim obviouls changes the gap, but i think that the idle set needle should change it too. also, the transmiter has a neutral setting switch, it can either be 70/30 or 50/50 so which should that be at??? sorry for all the questions, thanks for the answers

Okay I'm not sure about the 70/30 or 50/50 I have the Futaba transmitter and receiver, its different then yours but with me creating this post for you others will be able to help a lot more, now look at these pictures and see if your black rubber cup looks like that, and not extended any, look at where my idol screw is set at, is that where yours is ? can you take some pictures of it like I did to show us how it looks ?

i am not at my car right now, but it doesnt matter where my idle set screw is, in all the way, or out all the way, the gap does not change....the only thing that will change the gap is the throttle on the transmitter, or the throttle trim on the transmitter...

ya, its 5 am here...i was at my car at like 6 pm, so from what i remember, i could get it to that size with the throttle trim, i had the hsn out 2.5, lsn flush with the collar....no start, ill try starting it off of the ground, if it will start that way and it dies when it is on the ground, i would be right to assume that its the clutch spring, right?

Well yes and no, if it dies which your having probs with the carb it could be the carb you need to get it running before you assume something ells is wrong. because you can get it running and die just as you set it on the ground, plus the wheel shouldn't be moving at all, if they are it could be your idol is set to high, thats why we have to take care of one problem before we worry about another.

it doesnt matter how much i move the idle screw, it makes no difference in the gap, and when its running, the wheels constantly spin, FAST....so if the only way to keep it from moving is by holding the brake, would it be a carb issue? im pretty sure that the idle screw should make the gap bigger or smaller, which it isnt

What you need to do is take a picture of it when ever your around it, just like how my third picture is, and post it in this post here, make sure when you take the picture, that the carb hole is open at least half way then I'll be able to tell you more about it, a picture says a thousand words.

Even when the throttle trim is back all the way, it wont stay still, i have to use the brakes to keep it from running away.......here are some pics, the screw doesnt come out more than a few turns without letting the whle thing become out of place again.....

WOT with screw all the way in...

WOT with screw all the way out...

neutral throttle, screw all the way out...

This carb is for the sh.18 motor, free shipping for any order over $10.00, if it is the sh motor you have, it looks just like your carb.

umm, i think i might have done something bad...i got two radios when i bought the car, each has its own hook up to the servos, one battery pack, i wanted to use the other radio and so i took out the little reciever hookup, and when changing the cables to the second controller, i think i might have made a short circuit, cus the new receiver i was hooking up didnt say which way the battery pack hooked uo, andi think i did it bckwards, as now neither of them work...i tested all of the batteries, tried every comination of controllers, receievers, and crystals....i dont know what to do!! could i have messed up the servos? how do i check?????????????/

The wires should be black to the outside, if they weren't then you probably fried it.

Here's what I did for headlight's But there still in the works, the front bumper and lights are from a 1/8 scale or 1/5th scale hummer ain't to sure of the size just know it's way bigger then the 1/10 that I have, I had to do some cutting and heating on the bumper to make it fit my Tsunami, and what I plan on doing is having the wiring and batteries all on the inside of the body.
