Default Redcat Servo horn wont fit Futaba servo

Ok...
Im workin on my Volcano SV
Im replacing the Stock Steering servo with my Futaba 3003 servo.
The Teeth on the Redcat servo are more coarse (bigger and fewer) than the teeth on the Futaba servo.
The Redcat Servo arm will not fit on the Futaba Servo, (not without Forcing it anyway)
Now I've got to go to the LHS to buy a servo arm that will fit the Futaba and Match (size wise) the arm that was on the Volcano.

I've never heard anyone else complain about this before!
Am I On The Pipe, or What?
Anyone else use the Futaba 3003 servo? (It comes with the Futaba 3PM Radio)

Should still fit or work as long as the shaft is the same size. I have interchanged the different threads without any adverse problems..............just wouldn't do it to many times[&:]

Different brand servos have different shaft and spline sizes. If you use a futaba you need a futaba horn. Thats the way it is for all servos. Futaba, associated/ ace, hitec tamiya etc.. have different horns.

Red,
i think we are both on the pipe.lol i bought a JR radio and servos and they didnt fit. The JR servos has a metal spindle thats why the stock horn wont fir. I just reamed out the hole on the horn a bit and it fits ok.

I found this a while back and it might be useful to others:

Number of splines for servo manufactures

23-spline:
Airtronics
JR
Sanwa

24-spline:
Hitec
Hobbico

25-spline:
Futaba
Traxxas
Blue Bird
Cirrus
FMA
TowerPro
MPI

Yep i had to change horns when i got my JR servos with my 1/10. But the JR works fine as a throttle servo with my 1/8. I dont think the splines are the same though cause the horn was pretty hard to push on there but it works.

With the JR i just used the long one it works fine. It came with a bunch of different ones though. I had to make the hole a little bigger so the linkage would go in though.
