Default Brushless question for Volcano EPX

A buddy of mine destroyed his team TC4. More than he wants to spend to get new chassis and suspension anyway. I can pick this thing up for dirt cheap, radio, reciever, esc and motor. It has a velineon (sp?) brushless motor and matching esc. It's a 4.5 motor, whatever that means. Will this work in my off road monster, or is that motor/esc combo strictly for a road car? Thanks again guys. I'm full of questions lately. Too much spare time, I reckon. LoL

VXL? 4.5? do you have a link because the vxl would be about a 10 turn

I'll have to look at it monday, but I don't think it says vxl on it anywhere. I know it was super fast in his tc4 before the car disentegrated. Maybe its not velineon after all. LoL I do know it says 4.5 on the motor, and modified, I think. It's a chrome or silver can with blue writing on it, and the esc has blue anodized cooling fins and blue writing. LoL Sorry, I'm not good with electrics yet. Still cutting my teeth on nitro for that matter.

Ok, I'm a knucklehead. LoL It's a vector X-11 from LRP. Has LRP esc as well. And it says 4.5 on it. Still an ok choice? Might can get everything for fifty bucks or so, including a 2.4ghz transmitter/reciever.

Yeah, but it has two venom 3600's with it. They're not very good but better than the 1800 that came with mine.

If it's a 4.5 it will not have enough torque for the volcano and it'll just heat up

So a 4.5 wouldn't be good in the volcano? Even if I geared it down?

Ok. I got the car and radio and all that from my buddy. Traded him a honda 110 three wheeler. This thing has a futaba 2.4 radio setup, says fasst and 3pm the radio. It has a lrp vector x-11 brushless modified motor, and says 5.5 turn on it. Also has a lrp esc and it says sphere competition on it. I think I got a pretty good deal on it since no real money changed hands. Is this a good setup for the Volcano EPX, or will I have heating problems like pede kid said and if so, could I gear down to resolve this? I'll probably get it put in tomorrow or maybe the next day. Thanks for anyone's input.
