Volcano Wheel Replacements (Need Help)
Can anyone help me regarding the compatability of wheels with the Redcat Volcano? I wanted to put some HPI wheels on it, but they have the 14mm hex and I'm not sure if this will work. Anyone have some advice?
I'd like the HPI Blast Wheel with some kind of dozer tire.

the HPI Blast wheel uses a 17mm hex and won't work with the Volcano, which uses a 12mm wheel. look at some of HPI's 2.2" wheels and tires

Actually those are to adapt the Quick Change wheels of an XXXNT AD2 to an older XXXNT. nothing to do with adapting 14mm wheels to a 12mm hub.

No...
your best bet is to stick with smaller 2.2" wheels anyway, because larger tires puts a lot more stress on your drivetrain, which is the last thing these cars need

for the Volcano you'll want two sets of rears, because it's 4wd.

RE: Volcano Wheel Replacements (Need Help)
Real nice TBJ! I thought you liked my HPI SS wheels... Just kidding of course, but they are sweet looking on my truck, along with the Pro-Line Masher 2000 tires. From the pic fugadude posted above, I'm under the impression he wants some street meats, not dirt diggers. I think he likes the look of a tall wheel/low profile tire, which he won't really be able to get with 2.2s. Could he change his 12mm hub over to a 14mm to achieve the look he wants???
Fugadude, here's my setup. It's sweeeeeeet!
2 pairs of these - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXM875&P=ML
and 2 pairs of these - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUM93&P=ML
These will get you closer to what you submitted a pic of...

mounted on some sweet chrome wheels - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXM876&P=M
don't forget to order some CA glue...

Thanks everyone for the assistance it's greatly appreciated.
Here's what I'm thinking after reading:
HPI Mesh Wheels
with
Proline Masher Tires
Does this seem OK?

Glad I could help. The chrome will be nice with street meats, otherwise black makes it look nice n' rough for off-road!

lol, great job with the photoshop. Looks good. I still think the newer version of the Mashers are better mounted on the chrome HPI Super Stars. Pro-Line made some minor improvements to the tread pattern. To each his own though.
Here's some better angles...

I like your setup abjones it has some Mad Max appeal to it. I think I may get another set of wheels just to keep around I really like those hpi ss monster wheels. I'll just get both and then decide which one I like better when I put it together.
Anyone got some tips for gluing the wheels? I always seem to make a mess and the proline glue I could never get that little tube to stick in it..

This link will help, just make sure you keep the OD (outer diameter) close to the stock size to avoid possible clearance or gearing issues - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...re&FVPROFIL=++
All the tires have their specs in the "Notes From Our Tech Department" section at the bottom of each page. Just measure your stockers and compare. There are enough choices to make your head spin
