well I can tell you that a tornado BB is fast enough to break a rim....haha...the tornado BB is actually pretty fast. I am a beginner with this hobby so it is definitely fast enough for me.

the shockwave will hit about 30mph, the tornado bb will hit at least 42mph, i used my radar gun on my torando xp (same as bb except suspension) i am sure i could get a few mph more out of it if i leaned the engine out a little more

I drive a tornado BB. I bought mine off of ebay for $170 shipped to my door, with a redcat starter kit also. I felt it was a pretty good deal.

I'm not sure yet, I haven't got it on the road since I converted mine, I'm still waiting on my single speed tranny to come in. And I use to live an hour north of Atlanta in Calhoun.

The reason im switching to a one speed tranny is because of the big tires I have on it, it had to be lowered geared for it.

I wouldn't base your purchase off of how fast it goes. Consider performance, bashability, durability, parts, etc.

the tornado and shockwave are good runners, it all depends on what you want to do. truck are better for off road and jumping. If you want something that is super durable, fast and great jumpers, go with the 1/8's, they are more money but they are super.
