PRODUCT ALERT - STOP USING IMMEDIATELY
Redcat Racing is issuing a voluntary recall of all FM radios sold with certain vehicles.
Those users that have FM digital and non digital radios, should stop using them immediately.

We will be swapping out the receiver and remote control. Those that will do the swap out should keep their servos.

RE: PRODUCT ALERT - STOP USING IMMEDIATELY
Not yet.
Please wait a day or so for the form to get finished on our side. We will update the www.redcatracing.com/productalert.asp page when we are ready to accept returns and it will give you full instructions on how to handle it.
We are going through all the right processes to make sure this is done as orderly as possible and through the correct channels.
You will see an offical press release and recall notice from the CPSC soon.
Thank you,
Darin

Well that explains why my servos go nuts every now and then, and my car just takes off. Keep us posted on this please, I bought my hurricane last year.

I'm glad they are doing the right thing. No sense in taking a risk, especially when a vehicle being controlled by a faulty radio could hurt someone.

At least we should get and equal set up in return. Swapping FM for AM doesn't sound right to me.
Why aren't we getting FM systems in return?

Doing a recall is a step by step process that involves a lot of planning, working with the right agencies and will cost Redcat an awful lot of money. This is something that many companies do from time to time but surely not all of the ones that should in my opinion.
We are and will be doing our best to satisfy all customers that will be recalling their FM radio with Redcat so please understand, that our goal is to make this as smooth of a process as we can for everyone.

Ok Guys,
Doing a recall is a big step for any company as it costs a lot of money for them. Darin stepped up and did what needed to be done and will be addressing this with the proper channels, so the negative stuff about how long this took or otherwise should be put aside. I applaud him for doing this as most companies would just blow this off and not worry about. And I would appreciate it if you could not rake him over the coals about this. There are many companies out there these days that would just take the money and move on down the road, and not worry about the customers having bad product. Luckily Darin is not one of those.

RE: PRODUCT ALERT - STOP USING IMMEDIATELY
Wow!! you dont see this too often, I mean major manufacturers like GM, Ford, Chrysler are all pretty much in a "have-to" situation with being who they are but a hobby or as most would call it toy company!?? Kudos to Redcat! how many other maunfacturers would've done this? and on such a wide scale. I mean I know if they do it for one they should do it for all but theyre here posting for all to see!! saying "I made a mistake now I'm going to fix it" makes me wish I owned a Redcat product just to have the peace of mind thaqt I am dealing with quality people. Nice Job Redcat!

Hopefully the factory will soon in time, work with Airtronics or Futaba to bring better radios for the vehicles that need them (IE 1/5 scales at 75mhz)
